With the bases loaded and the Eagles trailing 2 - 1 in the bottom of the 2nd Brittany Boughton blasted a shot over the centerfielders head for a grand slam and a 5 - 2 Eagle lead that would not be relinquished. Brittany finished the day batting 3 for 3, with a walk.

Playing in the final game of the Bronco Tourney the Eagles looked to even their record at 2 - 2 as they went up against a Hilltop team that had last year beat them.

Hilltop was able to strike early, by turning a first inning error into a 1- 0 lead, but the Granite girls came right back in the bottom half of the inning with back to back singles by Brittany and Annette to tie the score at 1.

Hilltop struck again in the 2nd with a hit, SAC and ground out to retake the lead 2 - 1. The Eagles then took the lead for good in the second half of the inning with three singles and then the bomb.

The Eagle defense was awesome all day turning key double plays in the 3rd and 5th innings.

In the 3rd with the bases loaded and nobody out, the Hilltop batter lifted what looked to be a sure sacrifice fly to center but Annette showed off her strong arm by gunning the Hilltop runner out at home.

Again in the 5th the Eagle defense stepped it up by turning in a 1-3-5-6 double play on a bunt and run play.

The Eagles were able to add two more runs in the 3rd and 6th innings to close out the scoring for a final score of Eagles 9, Hilltop 2.
