J.V lets one get away
The J.V squad appeared to be cruising to an easy victory when the wheels came off in the last inning committing three errors in the 7th.
Leading by 5 after 4 innings of play (9-4), the visiting squad was able to score 5 times in the last three innings to grab a 9 all tie.
To open the game La Costa Canyon scored twice, getting two hits to go along with two walks, Granite came back in the bottom half, scoring 4 runs on two walks and three hits, highlighted by Alex's homer.
Both teams were able to score a single run in the 2nd but then Granite was able to push across two runs in both the 3rd and 4th innings to grab what looked to be a commanding lead, however Granite would not score again as the visiting squad shut down the Eagle offense with solid defense and some questionable decision making by the home coach.
With the loss Granite JV falls to 2- 1- 1 in the Cathedral tournament and is eliminated from the playoffs.
