J.V. loses to Torrey Pines 5 -4
The JV squad had a 3 - 0 lead heading into the bottom of the 5th but were unable to close the game out as Torrey Pines was able to score 5 times over the last three innings.
Granite jumped to an early 1 - 0 lead in the first, with a hit, steal and a ground out to 2nd. Granite extended the lead in the third by plating two runs in the third two hits and an error by the home squad. Torrey Pines battled back by plating 2 runs in the 4th and then took its first lead 4 -3 with two more runs in the sixth. The lady Eagles fought back in the 7th frame by scoring 1 to tie the game at 4; however Torrey scored the winning run in the bottom half to take the game in 7.
The lady Eagles battled a strong pitcher, brought down from Varsity and actually out hit the home squad 8 -4.
