Another great game yesterday with a hard fought tie against Mona Shores! Don't forget that we will have practice next Saturday (2/11) from 5-7 p.m., and our next game is not until the following Saturday (2/18) against Ludington from 5-7 p.m.

Congrats to the Varsity team for their awesome victory over defending State champion Grand Rapids Catholic Central last night!! The last couple of minutes were a little scary - way to fight all the way to the end!
Have a nice weekend off - see you at the rink next Tuesday (8:40 home game against GRAHA).

Another great weekend of hockey - the team has looked really good the last couple of weeks! We still remain in first place in Division II of the WMJVHL after two more victories.
In a great display of sportsmanship before the start of the game on Saturday, the coach of the BR/Cadillac team suggested that an announcement be made in recognition of the injury suffered by Joel Palmateer, followed by team handshakes before the game. It was an awesome moment of respect for the way the game should be played - Joel, our thoughts are with you and we hope for a speedy recovery so we can see your smile back at the rink soon!
On a related note, one of the players from the BR/Cadillac team suffered a broken collar bone late in the game on Saturday, and will likely miss the remainder of the season. Our thoughts also go out to him and we hope he's able to recover and get back on the ice as soon as possible.
Paul Christiansen will be sending an e-mail to all this week regarding the Subway fundraiser. Hopefully we can sell a bunch of these to help out with the budget!

Welcome home, Joel!! We're glad you were able to get out of the hospital so soon :)
Great effort this weekend by the Bucs! These 2 victories put us in sole possession of 1st place in our division!!!
Don't forget we'll be in Big Rapids next weekend for a home-away series with Cadillac.
We're hoping for good news tomorrow - James is scheduled for an MRI, at which time the doctor will let us know if he's ready to get back on the ice. We've missed you the last few games!!

Happy New Year! Great wins this weekend - we wish James well and hope you're back on the ice soon!
E-mails should have been sent to all parents regarding the Big Rapids Tournament that was scheduled the weekend of January 19-21 - unfortunately the rink has cancelled the tournament. As mentioned in the e-mail, we're still going to make a short weekend of it and play our divisional games against Cadillac at the Ferris State rink. We will play Saturday the 20th at 3:00 p.m. and Sunday the 21st at 10:30 a.m. Larry has already contacted the hotel where we had group reservations to cancel the Friday night rooms, and he kept your reservation for Saturday night. If you still want to drive up and stay over on Friday, or if you don't want to stay over Saturday, you will have to contact the hotel to let them know. We plan to go to Bennigan's as a group after Saturday's game - please let Larry know how many you will have at the restaurant so he can make reservations. Coach has also talked about letting the boys spend a little time in the pool, so make sure they bring their suits!
Short practice tonight in preparation for the game tomorrow night (practice will end at 9:30 a.m.). Game against Forest Hills Northern (non-division) tomorrow night at 8:30 p.m.

Last week of hockey before the holiday break - short practice on Tuesday (8:40 to 9:40), and home game against Cedar Rock on Wednesday night at 8:30 pm.

Congratulations to the Varsity team for their first ever victory over Mona Shores last night! It was a great game to watch with plenty of non-stop action. With last night's victory, the varsity program is still undefeated on the season!!
