2009 Semi Finals

The Drillers have earned a berth straight to semi finals with their second place finish in the Alberta Football League. The Drillers will use the much needed rest to prepare for the match up against the Calgary Wolfpack who won their quarterfinal matchup 19-3 over the Calgary Gators. The Wolfpack(#3) will make the trip up North for the second time this season for a much anticipated matchup. This time a berth to the AFL final is on the line in this semi final game. A win would send the Grande Prairie Drillers into its first berth in a League championship game. The wolfpack are no stranger to victory having captured many league and national titles. The last time these two clubs met the Drillers hung onto victory with a 54-49 offensive shootout. The Edmonton Stallions(#4) defeated the Parkland Panthers(#5) in the other quarterfinal matchup. The first place Llyodminister Vandals will host the Edmonton Stallions in the other semi final.
