The Grafton Girls U-9 Rangers played their final game of the fall season against Mequon U-9 Girls Red at Zaun on Sunday. Mequon played a fine first half, getting the ball into our goalie box area 3 times and coming up big with three first half goals. Grafton had one goal by Laura Stockhausen on a breakaway making it 3-1. The second half got under way and Mequon had us working hard to defend our goal with strong play by Hailey Block, and Carson Wise anchoring the defense and Corbin Woessner at goalie. Others team members, including Ava Peterson and Lizzie Heil, contributed on defense as well. Mequon struck first making it 4-1, 10 minutes into second half. Just as it seemed thing were slipping away, our defense hit Laura Stockhausen at forward and she blew by the defense and made it 4-2. Hailey Block then drove a long shot over the Mequon defense and goalie from deep, into the back corner of the net making it 4-3 and we were back in it. Then with a couple of great stops by Payton Riddle at goalie, we managed to get the ball up to Laura for one more, 4-4. With the final whistle and a great come back we tied 4-4, another great finish. Kudos to our girls for not calling it quits down 4-1 in this game and battling back to a tie. Coach Steve

The Rangers U13 Blue Team finished their fall season with games against LCU and FC Milwaukee this past weekend. On Saturday the Rangers played LCU in a very close game and came out on the short end of the score with a 2-1 loss. Grafton's goal was scored by Alec Weinhold with the assist going to Joseph Reyes.
The Rangers came back on Sunday determined to end the season on a good note. The team defeated FC Milwaukee soundly, 6-1. Scoring goals for the Rangers were Adam Huibregtse, Jake Demerath added 2 goals, and Connor Kugi was on fire scoring 3 goals (That's a hat trick baby). Brendan Larson had an assist for the Rangers. The Ranger defense held strong throughout the game to wrap up the victory with style. Nice job Rangers!!
The Grafton Rangers U13 White Team had two games this past weekend. The game on Saturday was against Burlington. We had a 2-0 lead with about 25 minutes left in the game. Then the other team fought back and scored 3 unanswered goals. We ended losing the game 3-2. That was the same team we lost to in the Racine Lighthouse championship game in penalty kicks a few weeks back.
Coming off the tough loss on Saturday, my boys picked it up on Sunday and defeated New Berlin by the score of 4-0. We dominated the game. I would also like to add that our starting goalie was not present during our weekend games! We are now 4-1 in the league and have one final game this Saturday. Keep up the hard work Rangers!! Coach Kevin

Grafton Rangers U12 Boys placed second at the “Mequon Fall Cup 2009”
Congratulations to all our players. Their continued success is good indication of their hard work and the development of chemistry between the players. We had very good competition to play against in this tournament. Our experience from playing in the premier league in the Chicago Sockers Nike Classic Tournament during the weekend of October 10th and 11th also improved our game preparation for the Mequon Tournament. I am very proud of our boys for their excellent technical and tactical game playing. Their win against a First Division State League team was key to lead them into the championship in the Mequon Tournament. Coach Farhad
The U9 Ranger Girls played the Croatian Eagles at Zaun on Saturday. The game got under way and I think we came out a little sleepy, getting down 2 goals in the first 10 minutes. Then we had a quick strike that turned into a goal by Corbin Woessner on a perfect pass from Laura Stockhausen. The Eagles added another goal and then Laura Stockhausen answered late in the first half with a breakaway goal, leaving us down 3-2 at half. Others with stand out efforts in the first half were Ava Peterson and Peyton Riddle.
Going into the second half with a ball cleared on defense up to Aspen Goad at forward, the ball was taken directly to an Eagle defender but deflected ahead and with a great follow up was finished off with a goal by Aspen, her first (score 3-3). The Eagles answered and so did Hailey Block with a deep shot over the top of everyone including the goalie with raised arms (score 4-4). One last answer with a goal by the Eagles and then Laura Stockhausen with her second goal of the day and a 5-5 tie. The second half was full of great efforts offensively and defensively by everyone else on the team today. This game was a thriller with lots of action and all the parents saw an awesome effort turned in by each of their Ranger Girls!
The RANGERS U13 boys blue team was in action this past weekend at the Mequon Fall Cup. The boys did not start the group play the way they hoped and were dealt a 2-0 loss against Allouez at the frosty confines of River Barn Park on Saturday morning.
In the afternoon match VS. Mequon Red the RANGERS played some high quality soccer and showed what they were made of, but came up short with a 1-0 loss on a late goal.
Sunday morning the RANGERS rebounded with a convincing 3-0 victory over Germantown. The first goal came off a brilliant corner served in by Joseph Reyes that bounced in the area until Jake Demerath came through and hammered the ball into the old onion bag. Goal #2 came off a rocket shot from Connor Kugi that the keeper could not handle and Nick DeFlorentiis (aka Nicker) followed up nicely and tucked it by the keeper. Connor sealed the victory with another follow up goal midway through the second half. The defense was solid lead by sweeper and Captain Ben Lorge, Dominick Rome, Will Skalecki, Noah Semmann, and Jamison Soya. If Germantown did get past this wall of defenders, our keeper Jeffrey Frankard was there to secure the shutout. It was a solid team effort.
Congratulations to all the G.S.C. teams for a great showing at the Chicago Sockers and Mequon tournaments. GO RANGERS!

U9 Girls Academy
We participated in the Kohl's Fall Tournament at Uihlein this weekend.
In our first game against New Berlin, we went to the half in a tough battle down 3-2 with goals scored by Payton Riddle and Aleia Olson. The second half our defense let down and we lost 6-2.
Our second game against a Shorewood team was much like the first-- a close first half down 3-1, and the final a 6-2 loss on a cold and windy 41 degree day.
Sunday we matched up against another U9 team, this time from Milwaukee. We came out with a different plan on the defense end of the field with the duo of Karsen Wise and Hailey Block that would shut down any offensive attack by our opponents in the first half. Laura Stockhausen put us on the board midway through the first half with a breakaway goal on a pass from Kaitlyn Wagner and a first half lead of 1-0. In the second half our offense took it to them with a quick strike and a bullet-like shot from Payton Riddle. Corbin Woessner finished off our opponent with a fast break and beat the goalie with a carefully located shot in the corner of the net. A great effort was turned in by everyone on our team! With the final whistle at the end of the game and a score of 3-0, our girls had smiles like never before, Our First Win!!!
U12 HurricanesOn Saturday the Grafton U12 Hurricanes continued their improved play by defeating Port Washington 5-0. Great teamwork was the key; Jacob Willman and Ryan Melotik both contributed 2 assists setting up their teammates. Goals were credited to Tim Bubach, Josh Brechtal, Jacob Willman and 2 for Andy Papke. Defensively, goalies Jacob Dickman and Ryan Melotik posted another shut out for the Hurricanes. Jacob Garvins, Tony Hauer and Brady Zwick also played outstanding defense.
RANGERS U13 Blue Boys
This past weekend, the RANGERS U13 Blue Boys played in the Chicago Sockers Nike Classic Cup. The Nike Cup is played mainly on beautiful turf fields and is a very high level tournament in Chicago.
The RANGERS started off with a thrilling 2-1 victory over the Sockers from Chicago. We had 2 great goals scored with the first from Jake Demerath off a bomb from long range and Adam Huibregtse added the game winner with a rocket from the top of the 18.
Game 2 was against Campton and the RANGERS escaped with a 3-3 draw. Scoring for the RANGERS were Adam, Dominick Rome, and Bradd Lemke.
The RANGERS needed a win in the third game to advance to the finals and they left no doubt that they were going to play in the Championship with a dominating win over Fox Valley Strikers 4-1. After a very tight first half, the RANGERS exploded with 3 goals and wrapped up their berth into the finals. Adam Huibregtse scored 3 goals a hat trick! Adam was on fire and everything he touched turned to GOAL, and Jake Demerath added a goal.
The RANGERS ran into a buzz saw named FC United Select in the final and the RANGERS ended in second place.
The U13 boys had a fantastic weekend and played some quality soccer against some quality teams. Keep working hard to reach your goals and anything is possible. GO RANGERS!!!

The U9 Grafton Rangers girls played their home opener at Zaun. Laura Stockhausen scored a goal in the first half on an indirect penalty kick from Hailey Block, leaving us down 3-1 at the half. In the second half the SC Waukesha Girls turned it on, and their offensive play led to a decisive win.
Sunday 10-4-09
On Sunday the U9 Grafton Ranger girls matched up against the Pewaukee Galaxy girls at Zaun. Our team got down two early goals in the first 15 minutes of play. The Grafton girls battled back with 2 late first half goals by Laura Stockhausen and some great offensive play by Kaitlyn Wagner. A strong defensive effort was lead by Carson Wise and Hailey Block at goalie. This left us a 2-2 score at the half. The second half had a couple of missed opportunities on offense that led to a Pewaukee victory. This was after terrific effort by Corbin Woessner at goalie, Aleia Olson offense, and Payton Riddle at defense. This was a battle our girls kept on fighting, and by far the best effort of the season. Great job girls!! Next week we are in the Uihlein Tournament.... wish us luck!
The U13 Ranger boys played a nail biter against a hard working Sheboygan team on Saturday. The boys played a solid 20 minutes during the first half and grabbed a 1-0 lead with a goal by Adam Huibregtse. Bradd Lemke forced a deflection in the Sheboygan box that Adam was able to get control of and buried a shot past the keeper. Sheboygan earned a penalty kick and converted to make it 1-1 at half. Jeffrey Frankard was able to get his hands on the kick, but the ball found the back of the net. Good effort Jeffrey. The Rangers went on top with a great goal by Alec Weinhold. Adam flew down the right side into the box and sent a perfect cross to a sprinting Alec and he made no mistake finishing the game winner. Jeffrey made some nice saves in goal to hold on and the Rangers came away with an exciting 2-1 victory. Well done RANGERS!
The U16 Girls traveled north on Sunday and played Green Bay Orange for league. After a sluggish start, the girls exploded for three goals in the first half. The scoring was started by Hannah Eichler who placed it magnificently off the post for the Rangers first tally of the afternoon. After that, the Rangers knocked the ball around and used the outsides to attack the space with speed. The end result was four goals from the speedy Carley Pfannerstill who cruised by the defense onto some well placed through balls. The defense did a tremendous job in the middle applying pressure and being physical. The tone was set by both Gabi Kuester and Tess Safstrom who helped shutout Green Bay for a 5-0 win. The girls are off to Chicago this upcoming weekend for strong competition.

U11 Boys and Girls Updates by Coach Holdmann:
The U11 boys started their fall season out on the right foot this past weekend, playing their first games of the year at the New Berlin Tournament. After finishing 1-1-1 in bracket play, the boys got a chance for a rematch in the finals. Although the boys played a much better game, they still came up short, taking second overall in a strong bracket. Noah Chopp played well in the goal, holding opponents scoreless all day Sunday.

The U11 girls team had an exceptional effort at the New Berlin Tournament. Ending bracket play at 2-0-1, it was a given that the girls were advancing to the finals. With a final score of 3 to 1, the girls came up victorious. Smiles could be seen sideline ot sideline, shared by girls and parents alike. Giving credit where credit is due, Chloe Doring earned the coach's "Golden Glove Award" for spectacular play as Keeper. Hailey Hacker guaranteed the 1st place finish with 2 goals in the first half. Hailey Bares put the icing on the cake with a third in the 1st half.
Congratulations to both teams. Keep working hard.

On Sunday morning before the roosters were even awake, the Rangers faced off against MK Alliance and suffered a tough loss 0-1. The Rangers played their best game of the weekend in the loss and were a bit unlucky, hitting the cross bar (ting) and the post twice during the loss.

Grafton Ranger U12 Boys took first place in the New Berlin Fall Classic Tournament held September 11-13th. Congratulations Rangers!
The U8 Neptunes soared through their games against the Cedarburg Red Bull, winning three of the four games. On Coach Laurie's half of the team, Kyler, Nico, and Harrison scored goals. Aaron had an amazing assist, Grace S. began to emerge as a defensive expert and handled goal kicks with ease, and Josh had perfect throw-ins. Stay tuned for reports from Coach Sarah's half of the team.
The GSC Comets had a great game against the CSC Rapids this weekend! Claire Agnew opened up the game, scoring the first goal from a great pass by Nathan Wegner. Mackenzie Schultz scored another goal, later in the first half. Cora Danielson had a midfield breakaway, dribbling it up for another Comets goal! Luke Falkavage scored on a pass from Reese O'Brien, who finished a great game, scoring 2 goals as well! The entire Comets team played a great game!
U13 A Boys started their league play Saturday against a very tough opponent from Oconomowoc. The Rangers started strong and carried a 1-0 lead into half time with a goal from Jake Demerath. The boys were looking to build on the lead, but were unable to withstand the high pressure put on by O.S.A. and in the end were on the losing end of the game. Keep working hard RANGERS.

U9 Girls Grafton Rangers Academy Team played in their first team tournament at the Cedarburg Select Tournament and Academy Festival. We had a 0-3 record, but finished our third and final game with smiles and a team cheer! The team’s improvement can be observed on a weekly basis.
The U11 Girls Rangers Team had an enjoyable weekend, winning both of their league games.
On Saturday, the girls had their hands full against a scrappy, quick team in Pewaukee. Rallying around Coach Holdmann's inspiring half time talk, the girls came out strong in the second half and broke the scoreless tie. Kennedy Izzard scored the only goal in the game. Coach Laura Maly gives credit to Kennedy saying that "the most important thing she did was to take a touch on the ball before placing the shot in the upper right corner of the net." Once again, Chloe Doring played amazingly in goal. The girls came home to Zaun on Sunday and kept their confidence high. The girls dominated the game against Oconomowoc with strong play from Hailey Hacker, Abbey Guteknecht, and Haley Bares. The goal came from a foul called in favor of Grafton due to Stephanie Balistreri's threatening run through the opposing penalty area. Drawing a foul that some might say was just inside the penalty area, Grafton received a free kick just outside the line. Hailey Bares then buried the dead ball shot inside the near post to seal the victory. That's right, another shut out for the girls. It's hard to get past our defense. Great just this weekend girls! Good luck in your upcoming tournament.
The U11 Boys Rangers Team led against Wisconsin super club FC Milwaukee. The boys played a strong first half, limiting their opponent to only one or two shots. Patrick Stilb scored the boys first goal. This goal was created by a very smart play from Noah Chopp dribbling through the center, and "threading the needle" to an open Patrick. The game winner was scored off a deeply lofted cross from Sam Huibregtse. Sam's crossed skipped off of the keepers hands only to be finished by Carson Klaus side volley. In the second half the boys held strong to their lead, and ended up winning by a score of 2 to 1.
The RANGER U 13 Boys Blue Team had a very intense week of league games. On Tuesday the boys matched up with our friends from Cedarburg. The game was very exciting with end to end action. The final was 0-0 but anyone that was there was treated to some great soccer from the RANGERS. The game ball goes to the whole team as it was a great team effort. On Saturday, the Ace Soccer Club from Racine came to Zaun for a match that also tested both teams’ intensity and toughness. The RANGERS came out quick, scoring a goal in the first minute on a fantastic goal by Alec Weinhold with an assist from Alex Dietz. Alex forced a turnover in the defensive third of the Ace's and Alec made no mistake finishing the opportunity. The Ace's tied the game midway through the first half and unfortunately scored the game winner with less than 5 minutes left. On Sunday the RANGERS rebounded with a much needed 4-0 victory vs. the Red Strikers at Mt. Mary College. Bradd Lemke had 2 goals and Adam Huibregtse and Jake Demerath added a goal each. The defense was dominating, limiting the Strikers chances offensively. The RANGERS are looking good.
U16 Ranger Girls 1st League game
The girls lost a hard fought battle in the league opener to a Mequon team that had some extremely dangerous players. The game was lead by a solid performance by keeper Alisa Vistie who commanded the team in goal and made some excellent saves.
U16 Ranger Girls 2nd League game
The girls had the opportunity to play under the lights at Carthage vs Kenosha. The girls jumped out to an early lead, but a very feisty opponent clawed their way to a 2-1 lead at halftime. The girl’s came out very determined in the 2nd half and really stepped up the pressure. The Rangers ended up holding on to a 3-2 victory led by two goals that were absolute bombs of over 30 yards by Alyssa Arnold.
U16 Ranger Girls State Cup Recap
In their first game vs. Kettle Moraine the girls came out and dominated play versus a very determined opponent. The attack was led by some great goals by the forward duo of Hannah Ziegler and Carly Pfanserstill. The game was capped off with a 5 to 1 victory with a beautiful goal by Hannah Kanuer as she stepped perfectly to the ball and blasted a 25 yard bomb to end the game in style.
In the second game the girls played a very aggressive Hartford team that was very direct and strong. The team job out to a 3-0 lead by some solid defense and ball control throughout the midfield. The scoring was highlighted by a great ball from forward Alli Stollenwork to right midfielder Alexis who took the pass off a sprint and nailed home a great play combination. Towards the end of the game Hartford picked up their intensity and gave the Rangers a game as the girls were able to hold on to a dramatic 3-2 victory.
For the last game of group play, the girls played a very physical and tough team from Madison, Yahara. The Rangers had some early chances in the game, but could not connect on. Eventually the girls jumped into the lead with a great switch ball to the outside flashing midfielder Carly Panerstill who slotted in to the back of the net. Yahara, being an experienced team, fought their way back with a goal. The girls kept fighting and eventually tied the game at 2-2 towards the end of the game. Even though the Rangers pressured the Madison team heavily at the end the game, it ended in a draw. This allowed Yahara to advance on goal difference. Overall the girls played extremely well and were so close to reaching the semifinals.

Game update from 9/30: The U11 Boys Rangers team played a strong Bavarian team under the lights on Wednesday night at Bavarian fields. Using a new formation, and a new found determination, the boys played strong all game long. After allowing an early goal, the boys battled back before half time when Carson Klaus dribbled from behind the half line up the right sideline. Carrying the ball deep into the Bavarian penalty area, Carson played a cross to the top of the area to a perfectly positioned Michael Balistreri. Michael buried the ball into the back of the net. Both players attributed the goal to the numerous times they've done it at practice. The second half proved more of a test for the Rangers as the Bavarians scored two early goals that were the result of quite a bit of luck. Not letting down, the Rangers boys played hard and had many chances to even the score. Dawson Lewis broke free through the center only to be thwarted by a stellar play by the keeper. Quinton Riddle broke open on the right hand side and beat the keeper to the near post, but pushed the ball just wide. The final score of a 3 to 1 loss doesn't accurately show how close the game was. The outstanding defensive play of Max "Mr. Hustle" Censky, Brian "Big Foot" Holdmann, Tyler "the Brick Wall" Otto, Carson "Speedy" Klaus, and Jake "Mr. Consistency" Petersen kept the potent Bavarian offense in check all night. Well done boys. GOOD LUCK AT THE TOURNAMENT THIS WEEKEND!
