Chevy Youth Baseball Fundraiser

Newman Chevrolet is sponsoring the Grafton Little League in the Chevy Youth Baseball program again this year.  The prize this year is a 2009 Chevy Malibu.  Raffle tickets cost $5 each. 100% of the money collected goes to the Grafton Little League.

The GLL Board decided that all proceeds from the Chevy fundraiser will go towards the new complex.  As communicated earlier we received approval for the new complex from the Village of Grafton and numerous fundraisers are needed to fund the project.

The deadline to return the filled out portion of the raffle tickets to your manager is July 31st.

The drawing for the Malibu will take place in September.

If you are interested in selling additional tickets you may get them from Mark Koehler.  You may e-mail Mark at mark.koehler@graftonlittleleague.com or call him at 262-957-7594 to get additional tickets. The four players that sell the most tickets will get a 5 pound Hersey Bar and a GLL t-shirt.

GLL Complex

There has been a lot of progress on the new GLL Complex in the last few months. We negotiated a lease with the Village of Grafton for approximately 20 acres of land at the corner of River Bend Road and Lakefield Road. It is a 30 year lease that costs the GLL $1 per year.

On Tuesday, May 26th the Plan Commission approved the site plan for the complex. See the Revised Complex Proposal in our Handouts section.  Some slight alterations will be made to the site plan. The development will be done in two phases. The first phase will be to grade the site for the fields and parking lot. This will include prepping the site for future development. The plan is to break ground this July so that grass can be planted and begin growing in Fall. The second phase of development will be to construct the fields and the buildings. The second phase will begin next Spring. If everything goes as planned the new GLL complex will be ready for the 2011 season!!!

Now the fundraising needs to take priority. We are developing a fundraising packet and have talked to some key contributors. The fundraising will be done in tiers. Major contributors will be contacted and fund the majority of the development. In addition, there will be many fundraising efforts to raise a substantial amount of money. How can you help? We need names of contractors who our Project Engineer can contact about assisting in the development of the complex. We need to people to coordinate and assist with the fundraising efforts. Please contact Mark Koehler with contractor information or if you are interested in helping with the fundraising efforts.
