Honeywell Expansion Grant Proposal - Approved by a 4-1 Vote
The Golden Valley City Council voted at the March 16 City Council Meeting to to submit a second grant application to the Hennepin County Youth Sports Commission for funding to expand the number of fields at Honeywell Park from 1-3. If the proposal is approved, the City will submit an application in late March. The first application was submitted in the fall of '09 and was not funded. There have been positive developments in the last month to address the largest issue raised with the fall submission which was a lack of off street parking. http://www.ci.golden-valley.mn.us/citygovernment/currentcouncil.htm Saturday, March 13

Sunday March 21 all registered players, including returning major leaguers, are expected to attend player evaluations. Evaluations will be held at Sandburg School. Evaluations are broken down by age group. A player's age is their age on April 30, 2010. Each player will complete skills at a number of stations. Each station has three adult evaluators scoring each player. The three scores are then averaged to come up with a score for that skill. The scores for each skill are added together creating a total evaluation score. The evaluation score is used to place your child in the league that is best suited to their ability. While players are going through evaluations, there will be a parent meeting in the cafeteria. GVLL asks that all players be registered prior to evaluations. Prior registration allows for more efficient and accurate scoring. Please arrive 10 minutes prior to your child’s scheduled time. Parents are not permitted observe players as they go through the evaluation stations. For questions regarding the 2010 GVLL Evaluations please contact Steve Baker, Player Agent, GVLLBaseball@comcast.net
