Monday, December 5 Honeywell Field Expansion Update December 2011
Construction of the 2 new fields is complete. However they will not be ready for play until Fall Ball of 2012. This delay is designed to allow the grass to fully grow in and become established for play. The League is working with GV Park & Recreation. If the spring of 2012 provides optimum growing conditions it is possible the fields will be usable for All Star practices in July.
Thursday, February 3 Honeywell Park Field Expansion GVLL and the City of Golden Valley are excited to work together to create two additional Little League fields at Honeywell Park. The new fields will be located south of the current field. The expansion of fields will allow the majority of games in all leagues (Blue, Gold, Majors) to be played at Honeywell. The current plan is to start the field work in the spring of 2011 with the project completed in late summer. We hope to be playing fall ball games on the new field in September of 2011.The visual of the field expansion project is below. You can download the image by clicking on handout. GVLL needs to raise $68,000 to support the project. As of January 2011, we have raised over $16,000 of the total.
