EPA DEFEATS SHORT-HANDED SANDY'S IN FIRST GAME 25-17
Sandy's was short a LOT of players for their first game of the season - vs EPA of course - and had to play with 8 regulars and a pickup pitcher (Jerry) from Jim Fischetti's rec league team. EPA took full advantage of the three outfielders, walks and errors, scoring 24 runs in the first 5 innings against 14 for us. Tom, Frank, Jim and Jay each hit a dinger for the good guys, with Jay driving home 5 runs, but we were just spread to thin to make a better game of it. Jim, Jay and Gary Bendian each went 4-5 during the game. Phil (vacation), Russ (crocked following a golf outing), Pat (knees & back), Tony (work), Steve (injured reserve), John Kalan and Gary Crosby (AWOL), John Masterson (back injury), Paul Chachko (work) all missed the game.
