TOURNAMENT TEAM ROSTER GROWING; OCEAN TEAM (SANDY'S) IMPROVED

Our roster for the tournament team is growing and its offensive punch continues to develop.  We have an excellent team for the NJ tournaments with developing interest for games outside of NJ as well, but we are continuing to recruit for all the rosters.  Our first tournament will be in the Bridgewater area on April 4 (rainout date April 5).  It is a one day, 3 game warm-up tourney.  Hopefully the nucleus of this roster will also want to play in state on Saturday's or Sunday's during the summer versus top competition (See related story).  Our roster for the NJ games includes the following:

2B/SS   Jerry Pallazolla

C/OF     Phil Hewett

OF/C     John Kalan

P/1B     Jeff Conner

OF        Larry Newell

OF/1B   Tom Connelly

OF/1B   Jim Fischetti

P/C       John Masterson

3B        Jay Majewski

OF        Don Wisniewski

2B        Billy Boscoe

SS/2B   Donnelly’s friend (?)

1B/C/P  Billy Kokouska

P           Glenn Gross

We are still interested in several more players for the roster with particular interest in an infielder adept at 3B and SS, as we don't have much depth there.  I am also very interested in getting a couple more OF; especially if they are good defenders who can bat .600 or better.  Power is irrelevent - we have plenty of power.  If you know of potential additions for the team please let me know; the time to check out players is now!

Our travel roster for tournaments outside the state is growing but still needs help.  I am hoping to fill a couple holes in the first couple weeks of April.  Folks who have said they will play include the following:

The following have reflected an interest in regional tournaments in Glen Burnie (2), Loudon and Salem (near Wash, DC), Lisburn, Pa (near Gettysburg) and 2 in Manassas (near DC).  If we are playing well Phoenix, Az and Ft Myers, Fl are possibilities as well.  Obviously we are hoping to add players to this roster.  Several may come from the list above.  Some teams are still working out what they are doing - that may provide us with some additional players.  I won't travel without AT LEAST 12 players and would prefer 13, no more than 14.
