Private lessons for anyone wanting to learn polo can be taken at Stewarton Polo Club and cost £45.  In January group lessons will start and will cost £30.  Stewarton runs a league in February for beginners and intermediate players so it is a good idea to learn before then if you want to take part in the league.

Polo is not as difficult to learn as you might imagine and experienced riders can even get involved in chukkas after three or four lessons.  It is a great way to blow away the winter blues and saves having to go to the gym to get fit.

Edinburgh Polo Club will be hosting a match on October 13th, in memory of a former uni player who sadly was killed in a water skiing accident.  Many of the top uni players past and present will be playing in this match.

To get to Edinburgh Polo Club take the M8 to junction 3 (Linvingston) at the r'bout turn left (livingston) at next r'bout go straight through, at the next r'bout turn left (A71 Edinburgh.)  Keep going until you see the Mariott Dalmahoy Hotel on the right.  Go into the hotel entrance, over a small bridge, turn immediately left and up to the polo club.
