Welcome, This site is dedicated to the game I love so much. Slowpitch Softball. I will share my knowledge and also some of the information I get from the Big Boys of softball. Tips, tricks and trade secrets. Check back often.
The Best Softball Magazine (great info.)
Many of you have come up to me asking me questions like what's the best bat, glove or stance. Here is where I go to get that hard to find info. Gene Smith and Luann strive to put together a magazine that hits the heart of softball. With articles from Jim Ramsey (who by the way is writting a softball book) and many others this is a magazine to keep old issues of. Some people keep old issues of Playboy.. I keep Softball Magazine.

BATWARS !!!!!!!
Organized, Sponsored and ran by Softball Magazine... Yes it’s that time again. September 22th we will be testing every bat on the market. This year looks to be one of the best years yet. Once again BatWars will be held at the Disney's Wide World of Sports, excellent facilities. From the look of things we will be swinging the Worth Composite, Miken's new line and Easton's Synergy line just to name a few. Mizuno, DeMarini, Easton, Worth and Louisville Slugger always put on a great booths. One of the major sponsors is Eastbay and they always have some kind of discount on quality equipment.
Oh just a gee whiz thing my good friend Brett Helmer has a signature model. You may not realize what a great honor that is. Congratts Helmy keep up the great stuff you do for Easton.
A couple of years ago, I organized a team from the Mohr Board and we really enjoyed ourselves. It was an honor meeting a bunch of my softball brothers. A couple of years ago, I was lucky enough to help with the Easton booth, what an honor.
Bubba organized a Shag team last year. I am truly blessed with good friends. I hope I get to participate this year.
Don't forget that the men's USSSA World's are going on at the same time. This is not something to miss. I will try to hang out with the ladys I met on the florida softball board.

Easton's Blessing
First of all, I would like to thank Easton for the years of support. I have nothing but good to say about Easton and their employees. Some time ago I was given the title of Easton Field Rep. I am very honored. They trusted me enough to give me this title and I intend to not betray their trust and be loyal to them. I would like to thank Marty Orosco, Hex and Bart. Easton (to me) have always been good people. I hope there will be many years of good fortune for Easton.
YOUR FEET HURT?
Try Tanel they are worth the price. I have had mine for two years and they are still going strong. I was going to quit softball until I bought these cleats.
Fort Myers here I come.
I have finally gotten to one place and looks like I am putting down roots. I found a position with a company called Chico's. Chico's is a major clothes designer for women. The people here are great and have made me feel at home. So if you are in the Fort Myers area and you are looking for a infielder shoot me an email. Deadmiddle50@netzero.com
3N2 Swing
I think the ball went 6 inches.
3 N 2 SOFTBALL CLUB
I would like to thank the 3N2 team for the welcoming I have recieved. I look forward to a long and fruitful friendship. The shoes are top notch and the team is a strong one. I see many wins in the future by my new team. I would also like to thank Paul and Phil I appreaciate the acceptance of a new ballplayer on their team. I hope I can in some way contribute to the overall success of the team. I am very pleased to be a part of 3N2.
A Sad Day in the Softball World.
I have just learned that my old softball coach CHARLIE BARRICK passed away Monday December 26th. Charley may have been short in stature but in my eyes he was one of the greatest men in my life. Charlie had a way of making you laugh in the toughest of times. He told stories that would start with everyone attentively listening then everyone rolling on the floor with laughter. Some of his quotes "We don't play at your house" which refers to the guys staying at home thinking if its raining at my house it must be raining at the ball park. Another favorite was "blow me" he would say it in such a way that you would have to do a double take. He even at one time had it scrolling across the screen of his computer at work.
Charlie also taught me not to take things so seriously. We both worked for tupperware he was the network guru and I was just the phone guy. He would say "a plastic bowl never saved a life." In other words even though the tupperware people thought it was life or death it really wasn't.
Charlie also introduced me to a little pub called Fox and Hounds (on 192 in Kissimmee.)I had been to England but never tasted the food of the area. My first dish at Fox and Hounds was fish and chips. It was a big portion and I could not finish it all and of course Charlie ragged me. Shepard’s pie was great once it cooled but when it came out it was nuclear. I also had the Scotch eggs which I grew to love. Charlie would say "there is something wrong!" as he was looking at his hand. I, (of course being the gullible pup that I was) "ask what's wrong?" He would reply "there is a pint missing from my hand." Funny guy.
Generous to a fault. After the games we would meet back in the bar and he would feed the team and buy them a beer or as he would say "a beverage."
I got Charlie back into softball after a long layoff. He told me its an addiction once we started talking about the fields, bats, balls and the way the grass smelled he was hooked. The same pub that we did most of our drinking sponsored our softball team. We won the league and the trophy is still in the bar the last time I went in. I saw Charlie (when he was playing first base) make this move that even the younger guys couldn't. The ball was thrown way off target and up the line towards home. He not only caught the ball but in the same motion tagged the runner. I was impressed to say the least. It did come back to bite him at another time, he did the same move and as he was tagging he broke his hand. That was my time to rag him.
Charlie was a softball brother, a father figure and a great friend. Nothing but honor and respect to that man.
We love you Charlie #1
