Fee: $35 pre-registered on or before Nov. 10th. with SUTP or  $40 at the door. (One time fee for all tryout dates.)

2009-2010 Registration Process Overview: Before participation of tryouts may take place, registration is mandatory. You may register in advance (strongly recommended/$5 discount) or on site the day of tryouts. Registration payment and materials (two forms [2009/10 USAV/Badger Region Individual Membership Form and 2009/10 Medical Release Form]) must be completely filled out and submitted to G-Force VBC.

PRE-REGISTRANTS, follow these instructions!  Thank you! Select a G-Force tryout age group on www.signuptoplay.com (SUTP). By doing this you secure a spot for tryouts and receive a $5 discount if your materials and payment are received on or before Nov. 10th.  You will also save time in the long run and the first required form, 2009-10 USAV/Badger Region Individual Membership Form (USAV FORM), can be printed out AND will be automatically filled in with your information (***See below for directions). Parent and player signatures are required on both sides of the form. (You're already a junior member of this website if you've been a club player in the past.  New to club volleyball, no problem, create a secure junior member account.)  Remember to also secure a tryout spot by signing up for a G-Force tryout age group within your account. The only form from SUTP you need to submit is the USAV Form. Log out of SUTP and than return to this webpage. Next, download and complete the one page Medical Form below, prepare your payment ($35 pre-regis. fee sent on or before Nov. 10th with SUTP or $40 after Nov. 10th.)  and you're good to go!  You may also bring your forms along with the check to any of our G-Force Volleyball Tune-ups.

Four ways to submit the forms and payment: 1. Hand deliver them on Oct. 28th at the parent/player meeting. ~or~  2. Mail them to G-Force postmarked on or before Nov. 10th. ~or~ 3.  Bring them to tryouts. 4. Give them to Tim Janzen or Jesse Bock at any of our G-Force Volleyball Tune-ups.   Questions regarding the registration process can be directed to camijg@gmail.com (Cami). See you there!  THANK YOU!

The first offer date is: Nov.

The first commitment date is: Thursday Nov. 19 up until 9:01p.

If you received an offer and then don't accept it by the time above the offer is void and will be given back after 9p. The Second Commitment date is Monday Nov. 23 until 6p. if you received an offer. Then the offer can be taken back after 6p. The same scenario as above would apply. Three seasons ago it was voted on and passed by the voting club directors to offer two commitments dates. With these two commitment dates it was determined that the players would hopefully decide sooner on who they might want to play for and also give other players a better to check to make a team once those other players accepted their offers. Way below is the written Tryout Policy from the Badger Region. Please read it and if you have any questions please contact them. Thanks!

At no time can a coach or club director make you commit to your offer prior to Nov. 19 before 9p. or Nov. 23 before 6p. If you are being pressured to make a decision about your offer, please contact Jenny Hahn at the Badger Region, 1.414.443.1011 and also contact Tim Janzen at 1.262.391.3335.  A club may only make one contact to any player per team they have made an offer to during each commitment date.

Note: Some coaches from other clubs might beat around the bush and make offers by saying this, "If I were to make you an offer today to play for me would you accept my offer?". The first thing I would say to this coach is are you making me an offer? If he or or she stated "yes", then I would thank them and tell them I would think about it. Offers like this (open end offers) should not be presented in this manner. This is NOT an offer. If this happens please contact the Badger Region and Tim Janzen.

G-Force works for you!

Below is the new Tryout Policy from the Badger Region:

BADGER REGION VOLLEYBALL ASSOCIATION Junior Club Tryout Policy (Rev. 09/21/09) The following policy was developed by the Junior Advisory Committee of Badger Region and applies to all clubs operating in the Badger Region (state of Wisconsin) Rational:The purpose of the tryout period is to allow players to attend multiple tryouts and find out what their options are before needing to make a decision.  Creating two commitment dates will allow fellow peers trying out to receive offers more timely and allow clubs to formulate teams more effectively and efficiently.

1.         A club program may not hold a tryout prior to the first Saturday following the completion of the WIAA High School State Championship Tournament. A player may not be required to commit to a team prior to 9:00 pm on the second (2nd) Thursday following the completion of the WIAA High School State Championship Tournament. At this time, any offers not accepted expire and are automatically withdrawn.  Offers given to players after this date must be held through the second commitment date of the third (3rd) Monday at 6:00 pm following the completion of the WIAA State Volleyball tournament.

Clarification:At the time of an offer, a player may accept, put on hold, or decline the offer. An offer made to a player must be held for that player until the commitment date.  A club may withdraw an offer that is not accepted by the commitment date.

2.                  An athlete may voluntarily commit to a club prior to the commitment date, but no sooner than the first day of tryouts.

3.         Teams composed of players who have voluntarily committed to a club may be registered prior to the “commitment” date.  However, they may not register prior to the first Saturday following the completion of the WIAA High School State Championship Tournament.  Upon official team/player registration of the athlete with Badger Region by a specific club/team, the athlete must remain with that club/team for the remainder of the Junior Volleyball season. (See: Junior Player Representation, Badger Region Club Director’s Handbook, pg. 14).

Definitions:

Offer:  An “offer” is defined as a statement made by the Club Director or designee offering a position on the roster of one of their club’s teams.  This “offer” can be the result of a tryout or simply an invitation to join.

Commitment: A “commitment” is a verbal acceptance of an offer by a player OR parent to the Club Director or designee.

Note:

A Club Program may hold additional tryouts, call for members, etc. past the final commitment date if deemed necessary by their program.

2009/010 Dates:

Girls programs                                                           Boys programs

1st opportunity to tryout begins: Saturday, 11/14           1st opportunity to tryout begins: Saturday, 11/21*

1st commitment date: Thursday, 11/19, 9:00 pm            1st commitment date: Wednesday, 11/25, 9:00 pm

2nd commitment date: Monday, 11/23, 6:00 pm            2nd commitment date: Monday, 11/30, 6:00 pm

*Boys 14-and-under programs may follow the girls’ schedule for tryouts.  However, the commitment date remains the same for all boys programs.

Note:  Once an athlete knows what his/her choices are, he/she is encouraged to make their decision as quickly as possible.  This is a courtesy to other athletes who are waiting for offers and clubs that are attempting to solidify their team rosters.  This policy is a regional policy and is in effect to “empower the athletes.”  However, if it is abused, the Junior Advisory Committee may rescind it.  This committee is made up of all the Club Directors.

Club Contact during Tryouts

A club program who has given an offer of membership to a player may make one (1) club initiated follow-up contact with that player between the time of the offer and the subsequent commitment date. A club initiated contact shall be defined as, a phone call, email, and/or a text message by a representative of the club program making the offer.

Rationale: The school week between the first try-out weekend and the second try-out is an important time in the education of these athletes. Club volleyball should not add stress, or take up valuable time in the athletes’ day.

Any athlete or parent of an athlete that feels they were not afforded their rights in the tryout process should contact any one of the following individuals. Jenny Hahn in the Badger Region Office, 414/443-1011, jhahn@badgervolleyball.org Colleen Houk, Junior Girls Chair Person, 262-385-0619, chouk@badgervolleyball.org Tom Gulak, Junior Boys Chair Person, 262-392-3077, Gulakt@kmsd.edu  Tim Janzen, G-Force VBC President/CEO, 262.391.3335 gforcevb@yahoo.com
