COACHES

Gilberts Youth Football has become a partner organization at www.asep.com  All ASEP requirements for Gilberts Youth Football and Cheer coaches are listed on the ASEP web site.

To continue to improve on the high quality of coaching we have in the Gilberts Youth Football program, we are going to implement a mandatory coaches off season program in 2009.  Every head coach in 2009, as in the past, must be ASEP certified and must pass an interview process by the GYFCA board.   Pop Warner also requires all coaches to attend mandatory clinics in the off season.  These will be listed on our web site when the information becomes available.  Failure to attend the mandatory clinics will affect your coaching status and the selection process for the upcoming season.  If a situation arises where you are unable to attend a mandatory clinic, please contact Mike Curran or Darrin Nystrom in advance to see what your options are.

A big part of our success on the field is not only with the head coaches in our program, but with assistant coaches as well.  A lot of information is made available to coaches, but it is up to each coach to step up and grasp that information.  As a potential assistant coach and possible future head coach, please do your part to make our program a success.

With the success that we have had in our first year, we have set the bar very high. We are seeking the best people across the board and our coaches are no exception.  As we continue to grow, we will ensure  that we have highly qualified coaches to run the Gilberts Grizzly football and cheer teams.  As our program continues to grow,  we owe it to the players and their parents to create a process that will allow for the best coaches available for each team we put together.  As a potential coach and representative of Gilberts Youth Football and Cheer, we expect that you will do your part to make this program a huge success.  GYFCA thanks you in advance for your time and support for this program.
