Umpire Info (Fees, rain-outs, etc.); Rescheduling Info (Coaches please read this)
Cumberland Valley Umpires contact: Ron Lewis 774-3681, 774-7486 (fax)
Rainouts/Cancellations:
Coaches should call Ron Lewis to cancel games only on the day of the game, all other early cancellations or schedule changes must approved by, and go through, your Commissioner. Tell Ron the game time and field. Be specific, but don't give him details he doesn't need. Keep in mind if it's raining, he's getting dozens of calls. Example: "This is Coach Smith from Hampden National Junior cancelling the 1:00 PM teener game today on Salem #10 against Red Land". Don't call him 30 minutes before game time and expect him to reach the umpires. Call as soon as you can, 90 minutes before game time if possible, call after that and you run the risk of the umpires showing up.
Rescheduling:
If you have to reschedule a game in advance, call your Commissioner with the info once you've checked to make sure the field is available and the other team agrees to it. For rainouts, reschedule a make-up game as soon as possible. Make sure of field availabity and that you have the details worked out with the other coach before calling. The Commissioner then will call Ron Lewis to schedule the umpires.
Commissioners:
National Senior: Bill Eppig 433-0334 weppig@verizon.net
National Junior: Mark Romeo 645-3242 markromeo@verizon.net
American League: Dan Eck 422-6691 danieleck@comcast.net
Teener umpire fees for 2009:
$42 each for a 2-man crew, $62 for a 1-man.
Show up fee: Half the game fee.
Doubleheader: (Two 5-inning games) $61 each
Completion of suspended game: $6 per inning
Umpiring concerns/questions/complaints:
Go through Marty Coover, do not call Ron Lewis for this. These can usually be handled at a regularly scheduled teener meeting.
