GTC Gymnasts Qualify for the Junior Olympic Nationals
GTC Gymnasts Qualify for the Junior Olympic Nationals

Seven gymnasts from the Gymnastics Training Center of Rochester competed in the Level 10 Regional Championships in Syracuse on April 15-16th. Gymnasts qualify at a state championship in March to compete at the Regional Championships. The top 7 winners from each Level 10 age group proceed to the Junior Olympic National Championships being held in Ontario, California on May 14-15th.
Sarah Moore from Fairport represented the Junior B age group. Moore placed 2nd on all-around (37.375), bars, beam and floor. Moore will be competing in her 2nd national competition.
Brittany Voll, also from Fairport represented the Junior D age group and qualified for her 3rd nationals.
Katie Wilkinson from Auburn competed in the Senior A group earning her highest all-around score for this year.
Emily Green of Penfield placed 3rd all-around (37.65) and 1st on floor with the meet’s highest score (9.725) in the Senior B competition earning her 4th trip to nationals.
Sasha Kourbatova and Lydia Barrett, both from Penfield competed as Senior C gymnasts. Kourbatova qualified for her 7th nationals by placing 1st all-around (37.55), 1st on floor and vault and 3rd on bars.

The team is coached by Maria Filatova Kourbatova and Alexander Kourbatov.
