See below for critical information on Registration, Singlet Distribution and Snack Bar help.
I requested help with the snack bar and to date have not received one response. The snack bar is a critical part of our program, the revenue from the snack bar helps pay for the referees and the school usage. If we do not get volunteers to help we cannot host dual meets. I have broken this up into smaller tasks to make it easier for more people to help.
Registration and Singlet Distribution
Rosters are due to the league so I will be doing out last chance registrations this week Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday at Colonial Middle School during practice. I will also be handing out singlets at that time. If there is anyone in Group 3 that still needs to register I can register your son/daughter at the end of practice on Tuesday but you must email me with your son/daughters sweatshirt size.
Please bring your registration form with TWO checks. One made out for the registration fees and the other made out for the singlet deposit. If your son is not at practice this week you will still need to come and register if you want to wrestle any matches this year.
Ken Chertow Winter Break Training Camp
I will be at Colonial Middle School this evening if anyone would like to drop off your forms for the WBTC and take advantage of the discount Ken has offered to us.
Help Wanted
Snack Bar – The snack bar is a critical part of our home dual meets, the revenue from the snackbar is used to pay for the referees and help pay for the school rental fees. To help lessen the load I would like to ask for some assistance this year, in years past the snack bar has been managed by one family but I would like to spread the load a bit so I am asking for two additional families to help with the snack bar this season. My goal is to divide the task into three distinct areas as follows:
1. Perishable Foods – Our snack bar is one of the best around, we have roast pork and meatball sandwiches, hot dogs, tomato pie and soft pretzels. The quality and variety has doubled the revenue since I have been with the club.
2. Snacks, candy and nonperishable foods - This would entail purchasing candy, chips and snack foods from a warehouse for each of the home meets, delivering the food to the meets and taking the leftovers home after each meet and storing the leftovers for the next meet. We have lists of what and how much to buy and we have a pretty good idea how much to bring to each event so we just need someone with a little time to run to the warehouse a few time during the season. A garage and pickup/van makes this a pretty easy task to handle.
3. Beverages – This would entail purchasing soda, water and Gatorade from a warehouse filling coolers with beverages and ice for each of the home meets, delivering the beverages to the meets and taking the leftovers home after each meet and storing the leftovers for the next meet. We have lists of what and how much to buy and we have a pretty good idea how much to bring to each event so we just need someone with a little time to run to the warehouse a few time during the season. A garage and pickup/van makes this a pretty easy task to handle.
One family has handled this for the last five years and I would like to spread out the load and make it a bit more manageable. By breaking it down into discrete tasks I think it should make it pretty simple and straight forward for more families to get involved. Please email me if you would be willing to help with any portion of the snack bar. (We will also need help staffing the snack bar during our meets so we hope everyone will jump in to help.)
Please remember there are no employees at GNWC we are all volunteers and our success over the years has been because we all pull together.

Just a quick reminder
There is no practice this evening for group 2 or group 3 since the schools are closed. The practice schedule is posted on the GNWC web site under schedule information.
Please note that with the winter season approaching I try to focus communications through the web site. If I receive notification that the schools will be closed for practice or a dual meet I will post it on the web site.
I have also added the dual meet schedule to the calendar, there are seven meets starting January 9th and running through February 20th 2010. We have two home meets in January at Colonial Middle School on Belvoir road and we have two home meets in February at Colonial Elementary School.
February 7th is the Greater Norristown Tournament of Champions, it is one of the premier tournaments in the area and it routinely attracts kids from all over the east coast (Massachusetts to South Carolina). This tournament is the clubs only fundraiser and we need the help of all families in the club to make it a success. Please mark your calendars as we will need your help starting Friday night and running through Sunday night. This tournament is a source of pride for our organization so please help make it the success it has been in the past.
The revenue from this tournament also allows our club some special advantages over other clubs – GNWC owns 3 mats, 5 electronic score clocks, mat dollies and a number of other smaller assets which we could not have without the tournament. This lets our kids get more matches and experience making it a better experience for everyone. For the football fans on the team don’t worry, last year we were done wrestling at 4:10 and were on the road home by 5:15 so if all goes well everyone should have plenty of time to make the big game.

Hi Everyone,
Sorry for the delay getting this posted but I have been under the weather. See the attached list for your son/daughters practice group assignments. If your son or daughters name is not on the list it means we did not complete his/her registration last Monday night.
If you are still interested in wrestling please email me asap so I can add your child to the roster and place him/her in a practice group. I will hold one more night of registration in late November to register the remaining kids.

I will be organizing a parents meeting in December to discuss the season and hopefully answer any questions you may have.
