Thursday, March 6 End of Season for The Highlanders The Highlanders ended their season with a heartbreaker loss to Cranford in the first round of the NJHS Public B state playoffs with the score of 6-0. The Highlanders went flying out of the gate but Cranford was able to shut them out with defense and size. Cranford was ranked #8th seed while Highlanders were #25th. Last week, the Highlander went into the 2nd round of division playoffs against South Brunswick and lost to them for the first time 3-1 and South Brunswick went on to beat Bernards for the Kelly Cup. The Highlanders finished the season with an impressive record of (14-5-4) and is 3rd in the division. The Highlanders will come back next year ready to take the Central Blue division and win the Kelly Cup. Monday, February 18 Highlanders Keeps Marching On! The Highlanders (14-3-4) beat their rivals Dayton 7-3 with Teddy Udelsman scoring 4 goals on the Bulldogs! Then the Highlanders beat St. Joseph's (Hammonton) 4-0 in the first round of the Kelly Cup playoffs. The #2 Highlanders move on to play South Brunswick Vikings in the 2nd round of Kelly Cup. The Highlanders (12-2-4) will be playing Dayton Bulldogs (1-15-1) @ Union Sports Arena this Saturday in a rivalry game! The arena will be packed with GL and Dayton fans so come to the game and show your support!!! GO HIGHLANDERS!
The #2 Highlanders will play #7 St. Joseph's (Hammonton) Wildcats this monday @ Union Sports Arena for the 1st round of the Kelly Cup (Central Blue division). Wednesday, February 6 Great results for a busy week!
The Highlanders hockey team (14-2-4) finished a busy week of games. The Highlanders beat Millburn 4-1 and then beat Scotch Plains- Fanwood 4-1. Then the Highlanders tied Livingston 2-2 in a heartbeater game, the Highlanders outshot Livingston but had 3 goals called off which made the tie happen. Then the Highlanders mercy ruled Edison 12-2 on Seniors Night. Senior forwards Nick Hewett and Dan Basillo will be graduating this year from Governor Livingston HS with the Class of 2008. We thank them for their hard work and excellence for the Highlanders Hockey team. Congrats to the Class of 2008 and good luck in their path to success! |
