Congratulations to the LMHA Thunder Bantam Tier 1 who went undefeated for 9 games throughout the playoffs to become CITY CHAMPS. Thunder took the semi final round from the SSE Wild in two very close games that both ended in overtime, the second game being won with 1.6 seconds left in the 2nd overtime. Thunder faced off against the Oakridge Aeros in the final round and won the first game 4 - 1. The second and final game was a lot closer. The third period was coming to an end and Thunder was down 2 - 1 to the Aeros and it looked like game 3 was in Thunder?s future BUT at the 1:03 mark Thunder tied the game and it looked like overtime was coming up, BUT 7 seconds later Thunder got the go ahead goal to win the game 3 - 2. The Thunder Bantams were also the Forest City Bantam Tier 1 League Champs and went to the Alliance MD Championships and lost a tough one in the semi finals to Kitchener. GLHA MEMBERS - MORE THAN JUST VOLUNTEERS
Approved
The members of the Greater London Hockey Association dedicate countless hours to run the programs offered to our 4500 hockey players. "Certification" at various levels have been completed by these busy volunteers, in order to comply with the GLHA mandate. In addition to those who had already attended the required clinics, or met the qualifications for their positions, GLHA certified 94 new coaches and 150 new trainers. 330 new volunteers attended the Speak Out Clinic, a 4-hour workshop on abuse and harassment mandatory for all volunteers in the hockey program. Many of the associations are now requiring Police Checks for their Board members and members of their coaching staffs. With the financial support of the Alliance and MacDonald's, checking clinics are also provided free for the children entering "contact" divisions in GLHA.

For 2006-2007, the GLHA Technical Director has completed a training session to implement 3 Coaches clinics, 3 stand-alone Speak Outs, 2 days of checking clinics, 5 Trainers clinics, and 2 re-certification clinics for Trainers whose card expires between August 2006 and August 2007. Details will be posted as they become available. Registration, as always, will be via your association's representative.

GLHA BOUNDARY CHANGE FOR 2006-2007
The Greater London Hockey Association has implemented a one season grace period for the boundary change for the players living in the N5V postal code. The boundary change will be implemented for the 2007-2008 season (including spring registration etc.) with no further concessions. The list of all existing players (grandfathered or not) who live north of Oxford Street AND east of Highbury Avenue will be tabled with the GLHA as an official record of these players for future reference. This list will be cross-referenced with the Minor Hockey Alliance of Ontario for accuracy. The North Board will honour their commitment to send new players, Jr. Knight returnees, and any player who chooses to move, to LMHA for the 2006-2007 season.

Due to the fact that the Affiliation Agreement with the Junior Knights has expired, for the 2006-2007 hockey season, a Greater London Hockey Association player (LMHA, North London, Oakridge, South/Southeast, West London) may only sign an AP card for teams within their home association.
