Registration for the 5 associations in the Greater London Hockey Association will begin soon. Each association will enter teams that compete in the house league (Community Hockey League) or the competitive level (Forest City Hockey League). In addition, some associations run their own in-house programs for our youngest players.
Players must register for the association where they live. Check out the BOUNDARIES page for a description of the territories.
If you need financial assistance, it is available at Kid Sport - visit their web site at www.kidsport.on.ca.

CURFEWED HOCKEY
497 people took the survey asking if they were in favour of non-curfewed hockey in the Forest City Hockey League. Here are the results -
YES (423) 86%
NO (60) 12%
NOT SURE - I understand "backup" ice comes at a cost. (10) 2%
Comments included a recommendation that the Community Hockey League run house league games without curfew. The COMMENTS section was closed when someone got carried away with negative and derogatory remarks.
FYI - The "cost" of curfewed hockey is possibly a reduction of the number of FCHL league games from 30 to 24, less ice time for practices and exhibition games, or some combination of the two.
Let's try the question again.

CHILD FITNESS TAX CREDIT
How can parents get more information about how to claim the credit?
Parents are being encouraged to keep ALL receipts for sport and recreation programs for 2007. The Government plans to release full guidelines for claiming the credit with the 2007 general tax and benefit guide.
What if a parent has prepaid fees for an eligible program taking place in 2007?
The Canada Revenue Agency states: "The year in which the tax credit can be claimed is determined by the date when the fees are paid, not when the activity takes place."
Are the fees that I paid for my child to play hockey this season (2006-2007) eligible for deduction on my 2006 taxes?
Sorry, no. The program does not come into effect until 2007.
Are the fees that I paid for my child to play hockey this season (2006-2007) eligible for deduction on my 2007 taxes?
Sorry, no. Any money that was paid to your hockey association in 2006 will not be eligible for this claim on your 2007 income tax.
