Demian Brown – Head Coach, California State University Fullerton Women’s Soccer (NCAA Div. I)

DEMIAN BROWN will be entering his fifth season as Head Coach for the Cal State Fullerton Women’s Soccer Program, after spending three seasons as the 1st Assistant Soccer Coach. During his first season as Head Coach, the Titans reached the NCAA Tournament for the 3rd consecutive season to go with 2007 Big West Conference and Big West Conference Tournament Championship Titles. Brown was also named Big West Conference Coach of the Year, making him the first ever first-time, first year head coach in the history of the Big West Conference to lead their program to both the regular season and tournament titles; and only the second ever to win the league’s regular season title in their first season. The 2012 season was again very successful for the Fulllerton women as they were once again crowened the "Big West Conference Champions" and Brown was again selected the "Big West Conference Coach of the Year". Brown’s other coaching experiences include serving five years as an Assistant Coach with the UC Irvine Men’s Soccer Program. In January, 2006, Brown guided the Cal-South Women's Soccer State Select Team to the George F. Donnelly Cup title, posting a perfect 4-0 record at Regionals and outscoring teams from Massachusetts, Illinois and Tennessee by a combined 8-0 total to win the crown. Demian Brown is also a staff coach for the Fullerton Rangers Soccer Club.

Diego Bocanegra- Cal State Fullerton Women's Soccer Associate Head Coach
Diego has his US Soccer "A" lincense as well as an extensive background in collegiate and club soccer.  After a successful 2012 season that saw the Titasn win the "Big West Conference Title" Diego as awarded the "Far West Region, Assistant Coach of the Year" by the NSCAA.  Prior to joing the coaching staff for the Titans Diego was the head coach for the Coyotes of Cal State San Bernardino where he compiled a 18-13-9 record. The Alta Loma resident coached the Alta Loma Arsenal Girls and Boys teams in various age categories for many years and later became an assistant and then the head girls' coach at Alta Loma High School, his alma mater. Bocanegra's playing career included several stops -- the Alta Loma Arsenal, Alta Loma High School, the Olympic Development program, Grand Canyon University in Arizona, UCLA and finally 1997 at Fresno State,

Lauryn Pehanich - University of La Verne

Pehanich comes to La Verne from Cal State Fullerton, where she enjoyed a successful five-year stint as an assistant coach at her alma mater.   

Her primary duties with the Titan soccer program included the coordination of recruiting some of the nation's elite youth talent as well as leading on-field training sessions.  Additionally, she served as the program's Director of Operations.

"I am thrilled to have Lauryn Pehanich as our new women's soccer coach," said Kline. "Lauryn is an experienced coach and has proven to be an outstanding leader of young women.  We look forward to the new perspective and energy that she brings to help our program continue to take steps forward."

Pehanich is also involved in club level coaching, serving as head coach for the GU15 and GU17 squads for AC Brea.  She previously coached the Troy High School varsity and junior varsity teams.  

"I could not be more excited to join the La Verne Athletic Department as Head Women's Soccer Coach," said Pehanich.  "I am prepared to integrate a culture of hard-working, determined, passionate women who are capable of playing a winning brand of soccer."

An accomplished collegiate player, Pehanich was a four-year starter for the Titans from 2003-06 and was a three-time All-Big West selection.  She finished her career ranked seventh on the school's points list (46) and was tied for sixth with 17 goals.  She also played professionally, spending time in Germany in the 2nd Bundesliga for FC Guetersloh 2000 in 2008.

"Lauryn's many accomplishments on our staff have prepared her to succeed as a head coach," said Cal State Fullerton head coach Demien Brown.  "Not only does she possess an amazing understanding of the game, she also has great character and a high level of professionalism.  La Verne is getting an outstanding coach."

Pehanich graduated earned her bachelor's degree in kinesiology in 2007 from Cal State Fullerton and received her master's degree from Cal State Fullerton in sport psychology in 2010.
