Fresno Senior Softball League: Jim Stanion award winners
JIM STANION AWARD WINNERS. . . . . . . . . . .
This award was call the Senior Award but was changed in 2004 to the Jim Stanion award. Jim was the creator of the Fresno Senior Softball League. It was through his efforts and undying efforts that the league got its start back in 1991 with just a few team & now has grown to 20 + teams.
Requirments:
1- Must be a League participant for five (5) or more years.
2- Must have served the League in one of the below listed capacities:
A- As a Board Member
B- As a Sponsor
C- As a Manager
3- Has not been suspended from the league for any reason.
4- Has displayed good sportsmanship for his time in the league.

Ray Nagai - Board member & manager for many years. Ray has always tried to do the best and gives his all to the league as well as his teammates.

Ray McDaniels - Long time player in the league, Ray is currently one of the oldest players in the league. Ray is one of the nices, fun to be around players in the league.

2006 Winner
John Guanerra - Board member & charter member of the league. John served as treasuer for 5 years. John was one of the baord members who help draw up the first set of by-law in 1993 and severed on the board for 12 years.

2005 Winner
Jim Brager - Board member for 8 + years as well as manger for as many. Jim took care of watering the field, chalking the lines and was at almost every ball game. Is a great help to the new members & manager to the league.

2004 Winner
Ike Pursell - 5 term President of the Fresno Senior Softball league. He was responsible for creating the current by-law and getting the Association to non-profit & tax exempt. Was instramental in change many of the playing rules that are in effect through out the West Coast. He served as ASA Commissioner for 12 years and brough a great deal of experience to the league. Started this web-site, started the stats accumulation, as well as drawing up the league schedules.

Larry Garcia - Board member & player. Larry was a great help to any new players and was an orginal charter member of the Fresno Senior Softball League.

Elmer Stokes - Member of the board for 7 years and activiste for change and improvements to the league as well as lobbing the City of Fresno for many of the current changes to Quigley Park.. In 2007 the field was change to Elmer Stokes field by City of Fresno proclamantion.
