Red Devils defeat VSA Heat!

On a cold cloudy day belying the summer heat around the turn, the Red Devils prevailed against VSA Heat 94 4 goals to 1.  Two first half goals by Lee and Matt got us going.  VSA closed the gap with one goal before the end of the half.

Our second half began with several promising forays into VSA's goal area.  No less than ten tries occurred in the first 20 minutes.  Our boys eventually converted with goals by Lee and Dale.  Again Dale found the net with a well directed header.

The Red Devils moved the ball well and all players made noteworthy efforts in this solid victory.

Goals: Lee (2), Matt, and Dale.

In News Today - We Win! We Win!

In a match of strong determined play, the Red Devils poured in six goals.  In a win 6-2 over Sterling FC, Lee scored a hat trick; two in the first and one goal in the second half.

Nick joined in with two goals, including a thrilling header, assisted by Matt.  This was Nick's first full game back from injury.  We enjoyed seeing his return to form.

David scored a diving header, a great goal, to closeout the first half, assisted by Carlos

Defensively we held our own with strong play from the back line.  Austin, Michael, Kiki, Dale, Ryan, and Paul all contributed to a solid defensive effort.  An all-around great job by the entire team.

Brian made a few great saves, letting in a header on a free kick and on a breakaway. However this did not blemish his performance and a great game Brian.

In a twist, Coach played Paul at center-mid for a bit.   Early on the game ebbed and flowed.  The Red Devils pounced about midway in the first half and never looked back.  Their co-captain Lee Martin set the tone by his determined and never-be-denied play.

The team travels to Virginia tomorrow to play VSA Heat 94 on Long Park Turf #6.

Let's turn this victory into confidence.  Let's Go Red Devils!

Red Devils NEWS - NCSL 2009 Spring Season Finally Opens

Red Devils again prevail with strong defensive play from the back four.  Mike stepped in for Paul and played well.  After a tense first half, with Loudon getting off three good shots at goal, the Red Devils struck with Christian capitalizing on his second shot to the lower left corner of the goal.  Brian made two spectacular saves to keep Loudon at bay.  Lee threatened constantly and got off some great crosses.  As usual, his efforts prevailed and the hard work paid off with two goals to his credit.  Trevor's goal showed great flexibility and calm as he easily placed the ball over the keeper's head.  Nice job boys.  Keep working and great things will come your way!

Hugs and kisses to your moms; it's Mother's Day!

Our Maryland State Cup voyage took a detour yesterday. We held our own in the first half, against the Pachuca club, which was rated well ahead of us in State rankings.  We allowed 2 goals in the second half.

We take pride in this year's accomplishment, by making it to the semi-finals.  Great job Red Devils your fans are very proud of you.  Now let's use this success and move forward to the business at hand and winning in the 2009 NCSL season.

Keep up the great effort Red Devils!

ODP Boys continue to succeed.  Three Red Devils players are currently on the Maryland ODP squad and we wish them the best as they strive towards their goals.

Congratulations Brian Gore, Lee Martin and Paul Lewis.  We're all very proud of you!
