  Rules

Franklin County Softball Expectations Contract
1)   Attendance is mandatory at all practices. If practice is to be missed for any reason (e.g. school function, family emergency, doctor's appointment) please notify the coaching staff in advance if possible. Practice missed for the above reasons is excused. Practice missed for any other reason in unexcused.
    Consequence: Prior to season: running
After start of season: loss of playing time

2)   Academics must always maintain top priority for you. You must remember that you are a student first and an athlete second. If at any time during the season, you have a failing grade in any course, you will be required to attend ESS for that class if available; if ESS is not available, you will be expected to study at home. If at any time you have more than one failing grade, you are ineligible for that week.
Consequence: 1. Failing Grade: ESS or home study
                   2. Failing Grades: Ineligible for week.

3)   The opportunity to play softball is a PRIVILEGE. Your playing time will be earned. Having a spot on the team does not guarantee you playing time.

4)   "Attitude is a little thing that makes a BIG difference." You will be expected to maintain a positive attitude at all times. Any negative attitude will not be tolerated for any reason (e.g. talking back to the coaching staff, throwing equipment, or being disrespectful).
    Consequence: 1st Offense=Running
                   2nd Offense=Game suspension
                   3rd Offense=Dismissal from the team

5)   Absolutely no tobacco, alcohol, or drug use will be tolerated.
    Consequence: Tobacco: 1st Offense=Running
                            2nd Offense=Game suspension
                            3rd Offense=Dismissal
                   Alcohol: 1st Offense=Suspension and running
                            2nd Offense=Dismissal
                   Drugs:    1st Offense=Dismissal from team

6)   You are expected to abide by all rules and regulation stated in the student handbook and enforced by the KHSAA. Any violations of these rules will be handled on an individual basis.

7)   A curfew will be enforced on nights preceding a game the next day. You are expected to be home by 11:00 p.m. Periodic checks may be made regarding curfew.

8)   You must notify the coaching staff if you have an injury. Your health and physical condition are too important to the team to ignore.
    Consequence: Possible game suspension

9)   We will travel TO and FROM games as a team unless extreme circumstances arise. If circumstances arise that prevent you from riding with the team, we must have a written note from your parents in order to excuse you from riding the bus.

UNSPOKEN EXPECTATIONS

1)   Be encouraging, not discouraging to your teammates. If you cannot say something positive and encouraging to your teammate, then don't say anything at all.

2)   Give 110% effort all of the time. (School, practice and games)

3)   Stay is shape, eat right and get plenty of rest.

4)   BE ON TIME TO CLASS AND PRACTICE!!!

5)   Do not use any negative remarks towards umpires, coaches or the opposing players.

6)   Be respectful to others -- especially when we are traveling.

7)   Be responsible. Take care of your equipment and uniforms. Double check to be sure you have all belongs before and after games and practices.

8)   Relax, have fun and have confidence in your ability to play softball! You possess your own limitations!

I,_______________________, have read the above expectations and understand that if our team is to be successful, I must meet these expectations. I also understand that if any of those expectations are violated, I will face the predetermined circumstances.
