  • Who Can Register?:

Children from the ages of 4 1/2 - 12 who live or attend school within the league's boundaries are eligible to register and play in the Fox Point/East Side Little League. Your child's age is based on their age as of April 30th, 2015. If your child will not turn 5 years old on or before December 31st 2015, s/he is not eligible to play. If your child will turn 13 on or before April 30th 2015, s/he is not eligible to play. There can be NO exceptions to these rules as they are dictated by Little League International and by our insurance coverage.

NEW FOR 2014, Little League Baseball® has modified the rules that govern who can play in a local league. A player can now choose to join a league if the school they attend is within the league boundaries, even if they live outside of the league's area. For a full description of the new rule click here.

  • Birth Certificates:

All players must have a copy of a government-issued proof-of-age document (birth certificate) on file with the league. If your child is new to the Fox Point/East Side Little League this year, you must provide us with an original proof-of-age document during the Spring Tryout/Evaluation Sessions. We will make a photocopy of your original document and return the original document to you on the spot. If your child is a returning player, we already have a birth certificate on file; you do NOT need to provide us with another one! Please note: Religious documents such as baptismal certificates are NOT valid for this purpose.

  • Evaluation Sessions (Additional Information)

All players ages 10 - 12 are required to attend at least one of our two Spring Evaluation Sessions!  We do not hold evaluation sessions for players ages 5 - 9.    We recommend that you arrive 15 minutes prior to the evaluation session. Your child should come to the session with a baseball glove, sneakers and dressed in clothes that are suitable for play. At the start of the session the session leader will make a few introductory remarks to the players and they will then be divided up into small groups for evaluation. Each group will be asked to perform a variety of fundamental baseball skills - throwing, catching, and hitting.  The evaluation results are confidential and are for use by the team selection committee only. Your child should be notified of his/her team assignment within 2 weeks of the final evaluation session.

  • Team Selection Process:

During our team selection process we strive to ensure that:

    1. teams within each division are well balanced and fair
    2. each child is placed in the division that is the best match for his/her developmental skills
    3. siblings (in the same division) are assigned together or apart per their parent's wishes
    4. girls are balanced among the teams - whenever possible, at least 2 girls will be placed on each team

We rely on our evaluation sessions to place our older (10+) players and our coaches' knowlege of the players in order to make the team assignments for the younger players.
