FOX VALLEY GATORS YOUTH FOOTBALL & CHEERLEADING LEAGUE, INC.: Practice and Game Information
GENERAL SEASON INFORMATION - START, END, PRACTICES, GAMES, POST SEASON
Season begins August 1st for players & cheerleaders.
Tiny Mite & Mitey Mite levels are instructional levels and do not participate in post season playoff or championships. The Tiny and Mitey Mite level season end at the conclusion of the regular season which is around the middle of October.
The Jr. Pee Wee, Pee Wee, Jr. Midget, and Midget levels are instructional and competitive and can qualify for conference, regional and national playoffs and championships. Their season can end anywhere from the conclusion of the regular season in mid October through the second week of December.
Practices for all levels of play and cheer have the same guidelines. During the month of August and prior to Labor Day we are allowed a maximum of 10 hours of practice per week which is typically Monday through Friday from 6:00PM to 8:00PM.
Practices after Labor Day are a maximum of 6 hours per week which is typically three nights during the week from 6:00PM to 8:00PM.
Location of practices for the 2012 Season will be at Mooseheart and the specific field location will be announced.
Regular season games begin in late August and will run through mid October and we will play 8 to 10 games during this time frame. Games are played on Saturday’s or Sunday’s. Our home games will be played at Mooseheart. The remaining games would be away games and played at one of the other Chicagoland Conference Associations. PLEASE NOTE: This is a traveling program and in fairness to all participants/teams/squads all participants are required to play and cheer in all home and away games.
Post season for the Jr. Pee Wee through Midget levels begins at the conclusion of regular season and is single loss elimination. The playoff/championship progression is Chicagoland Conference, Regional, and National. Chicagoland Conference playoffs and championships will be played at an association host field in the Chicagoland area. Regional playoffs and championships will be played in the Midwest area typically Chicago, NW Indiana, Detroit, Cleveland, and or Kansas City. The Pop Warner National Championships and Super Bowl are played annually the first or second week of December in Orlando Florida at Disney’s Wide World of Sports Complex.
Cheerleaders/squads will cheer at all home and away games for their respective levels of play. During the game they will perform sideline cheers, and at halftime they will perform on the field. Jr. Pee Wee through Midget Cheerleaders will also participate in a minimum of 1 Cheer Competition which is the Chicagoland Cheer Competition and Championship which is typically held in October. The top performing squads at each level during this competition will qualify for Regional Cheer Championships to be held in the Midwest area. Again, top performing squads will qualify for the Pop Warner National Cheer Championships in Orlando Florida at Disney’s Wide World of Sports Complex.
