Fond du Lac Ski Club: Welcome
The Fond du Lac Ski Club was formed to promote Alpine Skiing. Students from Fond du Lac High School, Saint Mary's Springs High School, and Winnebago Lutheran Academy are combined to form Varsity and Junior Varsity ski teams. The teams race in both slalom and giant slalom events. Other students may request membership if their high school does not offer a ski program.
Fond du Lac Ski Club works in partnership with the high schools to offer this athletic program to students, however it does not receive any funding from the school district or high schools. Annual fund raising activities help to offset the cost of the program and allow the ski club to keep student fees low. Of course, donations are always welcome
There will be a parent/athlete meeting at 6:30PM on October 22nd in the community room of Fond du Lac High School (enter through door 25). We hopefully will be able to answer any questions you have.
At this time our practice times will be Mondays and Wednesdays at Sunburst from 4PM-6:30PM. Race dates are tentatively scheduled for January 6, 14, 17, 20, 28 and February 3. The State Meet is Frebruary 14 & 15 and the JV conference meet will be February 18th. If we don't have enough skiers to fill our teams we may need to coop with another school and then the times may change.
Each skier needs to provide their own equipment, skis, poles, helmet, clothing. It is also advised that each skier purchase a season pass to Sunburst for practices and races held at that site, however you may also purchase lift tickets on a daily basis. There will also be a club fee to cover coaching and liability insurance requred by the school district.
