Instructions for Finding a Location
All of the locations are listed in alphabetical order. To find information for a particular tournament or event, look under "Event - Event Name" and you will find the event listed. There will be instructions there on where to look for applicable parks, fields and hotels. Hotels are listed in alphabetical order under the listing "Hotel - Hotel Name". Parks are listed in alphabetical order under the listing "Park - Park Name". Our Home field and practice locations are listed at the very top of this listing. Our HOME Softball Field - Douglas HS Softball Field is located behind school on the southwest side. Use south entrance on Pine Island Road and drive to the back of the school. Parking is available in the back of the school in the parking lot. Do not park on grass! There are no restrooms at the field, only a port-a-potty. Directions from the North via I-95: Take I-95 south towards Miami/Fort Lauderdale. After crossing into Broward County, take exit #41 which is SW 10th Street. Turn right (west) on SW 10th Street. Continue 2 miles on SW 10th Street and it runs right into the Sawgrass Expressway South (SR-869 S). There is a toll. Go approximately 5 miles and take exit #12 which is University Drive. Turn right onto University Drive and go about 1 mile to Holmberg Road. Go left on Holmberg and continue about 1 mile to Pine Island Road. Turn left on Pine Island. The entrance to use is the last one right before you go under the overpass. Drive to the back of the school parallel to the expressway. Park in the parking lot. Softball field is all the way in the back. Directions from the North via Florida Turnpike: Take the Florida Turnpike south towards Miami/Fort Lauderdale. Continue south to exit #71 (CORAL SPRINGS/KEY WEST/SAWGRASS EXWY SOUTH) and go south on SR-869 (Sawgrass Expressway). There is a toll. Go approximately 5 miles and take exit #12 which is University Drive. Turn right onto University Drive and go about 1 mile to Holmberg Road. Go left on Holmberg and continue about 1 mile to Pine Island Road. Turn left on Pine Island. The entrance to use is the last one right before you go under the overpass. Drive to the back of the school parallel to the expressway. Park in the parking lot. Softball field is all the way in the back. Directions from the south (Davie, Plantation, Cooper City): Take I-75 north or I-595 west to SR-869 (Sawgrass Expressway) North towards Coral Springs and West Palm Beach. There is a $1 toll Northbound. Continue north approximately 13 miles to Coral Ridge Drive. Exit here (no toll) and at the light turn right. Go to Westview Drive (next light) and turn left. Go to Coral Springs Drive (next light) and turn left. Go under overpass and turn left into school just past overpass. Drive to the back of the school parallel to the expressway. Park in parking lot. Practice Field - Betti Stradling Park In addition to practicing at Douglas High School, we also will use Coral Springs Middle School and Betti Stradling Park. DIRECTIONS TO BETTI STRADLING PARK From Douglas Softball Field - take Pine Island Road south, go under the Sawgrass (Pine Island Road is also called Coral Springs Drive), and continue south to Wiles Road. Turn left on Wiles. Betti Stradling Park is on the immediate left. From the north - take Sawgrass Expressway south, exit on University Drive. Go left (south) on University Drive to Wiles Road. Turn right on Wiles Road. Before you get to Coral Springs Drive, you will see Betti Stradling Park on the right, across from Coral Springs Middle School. From the south - take Sawgrass Expressway north, exit on Sample Road. Go right on Sample and continue to Coral Springs Drive. Turn left on Coral Springs Drive and continue north to Wiles Road. Event - ASA Qualifier in Clermont FL The ASA qualifier in Clermont will be held at the National Training Center Softball Complex on May 23-25, 2009. An alternate field site is Hancock Park. Event - ASA Qualifier in Lakeland FL This ASA Qualifier will be held in Lakeland FL at the Christina Girls Complex on May 30 - June 1, 2008. Event - ASA Qualifier in Miami FL This ASA Qualifier will be held at Palmetto Bay Park in South Miami Dade County on June 6-8, 2008. Event - ASA Qualifier in Plant City FL This ASA Qualifier will be held at the Plant City Stadium in Plant City Florida on May 23-25, 2008. Event - East Coast Showcase in VA This showcase is located in Virginia Beach, VA and is held in October. The parks used are Princess Anne Sports Complex and City View Park. Event - Florida Cup in Palmetto Bay FL Event - Florida's Finest Showcase in Tampa This event is held in the summer and in the fall. The parks used are Greco Park and New Tampa Community Park. Take ramp onto SR-570-TOLL (Polk Parkway) West towards Tampa (Toll applies) - go 10.1 miles to I-4. Take the TAMPA Left exit onto I-4 West - go 4.0 miles. Hotel - Courtyard by Marriott NW, Columbia SC This is the hotel we are using at the Dynamites Showcase in Columbia SC. Directions to hotel from South Florida: Take Florida Turnpike north toward ORLANDO (Toll applies) - go 98.2 miles. Take exit #152/FT PIERCE/VERO BCH and turn right onto Okeechobee Road(SR-70 E) - go 0.7 miles. Take ramp onto I-95 Norht toward Daytona Beach - go 453.1 miles. Take exit #86B/COLUMBIA onto I-26 West - go 60.5 miles to exit 108. As Exit 108 approaches, stay in the lane marked for Bush River Road. At the end of exit, turn left onto Bush River Road. Hotel - Fairfield Inn and Suites, Clermont FL The Fairfield Inn and Suites in Clermont is the hotel where both teams are staying. DIRECTIONS TO HOTEL FROM SOUTH FLORIDA 1. Take the Florida Turnpike North to Exit 272 (Clermont/Winter Garden). 2. Exit and turn left heading west on State Road 50. 3. Hotel - Fairfield Inn Marriott, Chesapeake VA Directions from Norfolk International Airport: Take I-64 south. Continue to exit 289B (Greenbrier Parkway South). Turn right at first light onto Jarman Road and make first right onto Crossways Blvd. Hotel is second hotel on the right.
Hotel - Holiday Inn Express Bartow FL This is the hotel we are using for the Lakeland Qualifier. It is closest to the park without being further north. Directions to hotel from South Florida: Take the Florida Turnpike north. Exit at Yeehaw Junction (Hwy 60) and go west. As you go through Bartow, stay on Hwy 60 and look for US Hwy 98. Hotel - SpringHill Suites, Altamonte Springs FL This is the hotel we will be using for the Altamonte Springs Qualifier. Park - Bamford Sports Complex Davie FL The Rising Stars Showcase Tournament is held at this park, as well as other parks. The Bamford Sports Complex is located in Davie Florida on Pine Island Road between I-595 and Griffin Road. From Coral Springs/Parkland...Take the Sawgrass Expressway south to I-595. Go east on I-595 towards Fort Lauderdale. Exit on Pine Island Road. When you get to the end of the ramp, at the light, turn south (left) on Pine Island Road. Park - Brantley South Softball Field This field is located at Lake Brantley Sports Complex at Lake Brantley High School. Directions from SpringHill Suites: Go west on Semoran Blvd to Forest City Road (Hwy 434). Turn right on Hwy 434. Continue to Sand Lake Road. Turn left on Sand Lake Road. The school is on the left. Park - Christina Girls Softball Park Lakeland FL Christina Girls Softball Park is located in South Lakeland on the NE corner of 540A and S Florida Avenue (Hwy 37). Park - Eddie C Moore Clearwater FL The Michele Smith Showcase in Clearwater Florida will be held at this park. DIRECTIONS TO PARK FROM SOUTH FLORIDA Traveling from Fort Lauderdale area: 1. Take the Sawgrass or I-595 to I-75 and go North toward ALLIGATOR ALLEY/NAPLES (Portions toll). Continue for 211.0 miles. 2. Merge onto I-275 North via EXIT 228 toward ST PETERSBURG (Portions toll). Go 29.4 miles. 3. Take the SR-686/ROOSEVELT BLVD exit, EXIT 30, toward LARGO, and continue on FL-686 West toward LARGO-CLEARWATER/ST PETE-CLWTR INT'L AIRPORT. 4. Park - Edgewood Complex Fields 7-10 This is one of 4 parks used during the Pennsbury Showcase. Directions to park from hotel: Exit hotel on Oxford Valley Road, towards Route 1. Cross Route 1 and continue on Oxford Valley Road. Oxford Valley Road turns into Heacock Road. Cross the train tracks, go to the second light. Turn right onto Edgewood Road. Proceed on Edgewood, cross the tracks. You will see fields 4-6 on the right and fields 7-10 will be on the left, beyond the Library and behind the pool. Click on the compass for a map to the park.
Park - Green Valley Complex Moline IL Park - Hancock Park Clermont FL Hancock Park is an alternate field site for the ASA Qualifier in Clermont Florida. It is located on the east side of Clermont on Hancock Road, south of Highway 50 and is the Home of Clermont Girls Softball League. Hancock Park has five softball fields, full concession, restrooms, two soccer fields, play ground, pavilion, tennis courts, basketball courts and picnic areas. DIRECTIONS TO PARK FROM FAIRFIELD INN 1. Exit Hotel on Citrus Tower Blvd. Go south to Highway 50. 2. Turn Left on Highway 50 and continue east 1.0 miles to Hancock Road. 3. Park - Lower Makefield Baseball Fields 4-6 This is one of 4 parks used during the Pennsbury Showcase. Directions to park from hotel: Exit hotel on Oxford Valley Road, towards Route 1. Park - Lower Makefield Softball Fields 1-3 This is one of 4 parks used during the Pennsbury Showcase. Directions to park from hotel: Exit hotel on Oxford Valley Road, towards Route 1. Cross Route 1 and continue on Oxford Valley Road. Oxford Valley Road turns into Heacock Road. Cross the train tracks, go to the second light. Turn right onto Edgewood Road. Proceed on Edgewood, cross the tracks. You will pass fields 4-6 on the right and fields 7-10 on the left, and the next street is Oxford Valley Road. Park - Merrill Park Altamonte Springs FL The ASA Qualifier in Altamonte Springs Florida will be held at this park. Directions to park from SpringHill Suites hotel: Go west on SR 436 for 1.7 miles to SR 434. Turn Right (north) on SR-434 - go 1.2 miles. Turn Right on Jamestown Blvd - go 0.3 miles. Park - National Training Center Clermont FL The ASA Qualifier in Clermont Florida will be held at this park. DIRECTIONS TO PARK FROM SOUTH FLORIDA Traveling from the South on the Florida Turnpike: 1. Take the Florida Turnpike North to Exit 272 (Clermont/Winter Garden). 2. Exit and turn left heading West on State Road 50. 3. Continue west for 5.5 miles to Hancock Road. 4. Take a right on Hancock Rd. 5. Turn left on Legends Way (this is the first left). 6. NTC Softball Complex is up on the right. DIRECTIONS FROM HOTEL TO PARK I have heard that Legends Way has been completed all the way from Citrus Tower to Hancock Road. If this is correct, use directions below. 1. Exit Fairfield Inn onto Hunt Trace Blvd and go across Citrus Tower onto Legends Way. 2. Follow Legends Way around to the softball fields on the left. If Legends Way is not completed, use the directions below. 1. Exit the hotel onto Citrus Tower Blvd and go south to Highway 50. 2. Turn left on Highway 50. 3. You can go to the Hampton Inn, turn left at the Hampton Inn, go up the hill to Legends Way, turn right and the park is on the left. OR... 4. Go to Hancock Road, turn left on Hancock, then turn left on Legends Way, and the park is on the right. For GPS purposes for the park, they say to us the Hampton Inn address, which is 2200 East Highway 50, Clermont Florida 34711. Legends Way does not come up on GPS. Park - Oak Grove Park in SC The Oak Grove Sports Complex is one of the parks used for the Dynamite Showcase. It is in Lexington SC, near Columbia. Directions to park from hotel: Start at 347 Zimalcrest Drive going .2 miles to Bush River Road. Turn Right on Bush River Road (SC-273) - go 0.8 miles. Turn Left to take ramp onto I-20 West - go 5.5 miles. Take exit #58/LEXINGTON onto Augusta Road (US-1) toward WEST COLUMBIA - go 2.6 miles. Turn Left on Oak Drive - go 0.7 miles. Park - Palmetto Bay Park in South Dade Palmetto Bay Park is in South Miami-Dade County. It is the location for the South Florida ASA Qualifier. Directions: From the school at 5901 Pine Island Road. 1. Take Sawgrass Expressway south to I-75 south. 2. Take I-75 south to Florida Turnpike south towards Key West. 3. Continue on Florida Turnpike to exit 13 which is SW 184th Street/Eureka Drive. 4. Turn left (east) on SW 184th Street/Eureka Drive. Go to US 1. 5. Turn left (north) on US 1 (South Dixie Highway). 6. Continue north to SW 175th Terrace. The street is not well marked so look for it right before the Batteries Plus store. Just past the traffic light at Evergreen Street. 7. Park - Pennsbury Middle School Fields 11-13 This is one of 4 parks used during the Pennsbury Showcase. Directions to park from hotel: Exit hotel on Oxford Valley Road, towards Route 1. Cross Route 1 and continue on Oxford Valley Road. Turn right onto Big Oak Road at the Koh;'s Shopping Center. Proceed approximately 3 miles to the Pennsbury Charled Boehm Middle School on the left. Park - PGA Park in Palm Bch Gardens This is the park where the PBG Swamp Classic will be held. Directions to park: From I-95, get off at the NorthLake Blvd. exit and head west past Military Trail and go approximately 1.5 miles, go over the turnpike overpass and approximately ¼ mile on the right is PGA Park. From the turnpike, get off at PGA Blvd. and head east to Military Trail and turn right, go 4 lights and turn right, go appx 1.5 miles, go over the turnpike overpass and appx. ¼ mile on the right is PGA Park. Park - Pine Grove Park in SC Pine Grove Park is one of the parks where we will play for the Dynamite Showcase in Columbia SC. Park - Princess Anne Athletics Complex in VA Directions to the Princess Anne Athletic Complex: From Interstate 64, take Indian River Road East (Exit 286B) and merge onto Indian River Road. Just after the Kempsville Road intersection, the road will fork. At the fork, bear left onto Ferrell Parkway. Take the Princess Anne Road East exit at the end of Ferrell Parkway. Follow Princess Anne Road to Dam Neck Road. Turn right on Dam Neck. Look for the brown sign pointing you towards the Athletic Fields, and turn left onto Landstown Road. The Princess Anne Athletic Complex entrance will be on the right (across from the Virginia Beach Sportsplex entrance).
Park - Seminole Palms Park in RPB FL This park is the location for the ASA South Florida Championship Qualifier on June 19-21. Directions: Take the Florida Turnpike and exit at Southern Blvd. Go west past US 441. About 1/2 mile past US 441, turn right onto Lamstein Lane. There is a Costco on the corner. The fields are behind the Costco. Drive past the fields and Lamstein Lane curves around to the left and parking is past the curve on the left. Click on compass below for map.
Park - Victoria Park Jacksonville FL This park is used during the Jacksonville Fall Showcase. Directions from the South: Take I-95 North towards Jacksonville. Take exit 345 toward SR-109/University Blvd. Bear right and merge onto Bowden Rd. Proceed 0.6 miles east and turn left at Victoria Park Rd. Proceed 0.4 miles to the Park.
