Welcome to Acceleration Indiana!
By Gary NelsonNovember 18, 2008
We are pleased to be a sponsor and partner of Fishers Youth Hockey Association. Our goal is to assist your organization in developing better youth hockey player’s through our training programs and assist in the development of FYHA youth hockey coaches through education seminars and coaching clinics.
Acceleration Indiana was founded in 1993 by Gary and David Nelson when we acquired the rights to the Frappier Acceleration Sports Training (now known as Athletic Republic). I was very favorably impressed with the results of the Acceleration program when I walked into my son Steve’s hockey practice at Concordia College in Minnesota and saw significant improvement in his Acceleration, Speed, Quickness and Stamina after only six weeks of Acceleration training. Having been involved in hockey for over thirty years I was interested in meeting John Frappier to learn about the science behind his program. Suffice it to say I was so impressed I came back to Indiana and started Acceleration Indiana with my son Dave. Dave played goalie for Culver A team also Concordia College in Minnesota and went on to win the 1994 National Championship in Roller Hockey. In the last fifteen years we have trained numerous state championship hockey teams from mites through high school. Dave has personally helped develop over 25 state champion hockey goalies.
The Acceleration hockey programs are offered for all levels, mites to the pro’s. Each program is tailored to the individual athlete and all training is one on one to ensure the highest quality results at an affordable price. Each athlete is pre and post tested so you can see his/her improved results. Programs are available all year and can be adjusted to fit the time you have available. In addition to the speed and conditioning programs we offer shooting, puck handling and special goalie training programs, using our patented cord technology to develop glove and blocker quickness, higher shooting velocities, and puck handling control and quickness.
The success of the Acceleration programs is measured not only by our success in training hockey players but also that the following Division 1 hockey programs have incorporated acceleration training on their campus, both pre-season and in-season. University of Minnesota Ohio StateConnell University Michigan Tech
Many other Division 1 players such as University of North Dakota train at a nearby Acceleration sites to prepare for their hockey season.USA Hockey also has now incorporated Acceleration Training at its Ann Arbor facility for the u17 and u18 National Development Teams.
