This section is dedicated to the FYHA Coaches.
ATTENTION ALL COACHES & ANYONE INTERESTED IN COACHING OR HELPING OUT ON THE ICE FOR THE 2009/2010 SEASON!
FYHA is now taking Coaches Applications for the 2009-20010 Hockey Season. If you are interested in coaching either a House Recreational Team, a Falcons All Star Team, a Girls House Team or a Girls Travel Team, we ask that you click on the button below for online registration.
FYHA will reimburse all Coaches for all Level 1-3 Classes taken this current hockey season and all Background Checks submitted this current year at the end of this 2009-2010 Season. It is every Coaches responsibility to submit all Volunteer Screening and CEP receipts and/or copies of their current CEP Cards to Evan Porter for reimbursement. Fishers Forum Locker Room Rules
Coaches, the rules below were submitted to FYHA by the management of the Forum at Fishers Ice Arena. Please read carefully and contact them if you have any questions.
THE FORUM AT FISHERS LOCKER ROOM AND MEETING ROOM POLICIES
LOCKER ROOM RULES
KEYS TO THE LOCKER ROOMS MAY BE CHECKED OUT ONLY BY THE TEAM COACH, TEAM MANAGER OR TEAM EQUIPMENT MANAGER.A DRIVERS LICENSE OR CAR KEYS WILL BE REQUIRED TO CHECK OUT A KEY.
LOCKER ROOMS MUST BE VACATED AND LOCKED 30 MINUTES AFTER GAME IS FINISHED.
KEYS OR LICENSE WILL NOT BE RETURNED UNTIL LOCKER ROOM IS EMPTY AND CHECKED BY A FORUM STAFF PERSON.
EXCESSIVE TRASH OR DAMAGE WILL RESULT IN FINES PAYABLE AT TIME OF INCIDENT. DAMAGE ESTIMATES WILL BE SECURED BY THE FORUM MANAGEMENT AND WILL INCLUDE THE COST OF MATERIALS AND LABOR.
THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO FOOD PERMITTED IN THE LOCKER ROOM.THERE WILL BE A $25.00 CHARGE FOR VIOLATING THIS POLICY.A REPEATED OFFENSE WILL RESULT IN THE LOSS OF LOCKER ROOM PRIVILEGES.
IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE TEAM TO REPORT ANY DAMAGE OR TRASH TO THE LOCKER ROOM, SHOWER ROOM OR BATHROOM TO A FORUM MANAGER PRIOR TO OCCUPYING IT.
MEETING ROOMS:
TEAM MEETINGS AND EXECUTIVE BOARD MEETINGS ARE PERMITTED BY CONTRACTED TEAMS AND CLUBS AND MAY BE BOOKED THROUGH SUE MURRAY BY EMAIL OR PHONE.THERE WILL BE NO CHARGE; HOWEVER THERE IS NO OUTSIDE FOOD PERMITTED DURING THESE MEETINGS WITHOUT PRIOR APPROVAL OF FORUM MANAGEMENT.
OUTSIDE FOOD POLICY:
ABSOLUTELY NO OUTSIDE FOOD IS PERMITTED TO BE BROUGHT INTO THE FORUM AT FISHERS AT ANY TIME. IF YOU CHOOSE TO IGNORE THIS POLICY YOUR TEAM WILL BE CHARGED A $100.00 ROOM FEE, A $50.00 FOOD CHARGE AND A $50.00 CLEANING FEE. ANY AND ALL TEAM PARTIES MUST HAVE WRITTEN APPROVAL PRIOR TO YOUR EVENT BY THE FORUM AT FISHERS MANAGEMENT. THERE WILL BE ABSOLUTELY NO EXCEPTIONS TO THIS POLICY.
The FYHA is a member of the USA Hockey Organization Mid-Am District. FYHA requires that all Coaches to be certified to USA Hockey Standards. The following coaching levels must be obtained to be a certified hockey coach and to coach for FYHA:
Please note: Certification is only good for 3 years and you must be current to attend a class at the next level.

HELMETS REQUIRED
BEGINNING WITH THE 2006-2007 HOCKEY SEASON, USA HOCKEY IS REQUIRING ALL COACHES TO WEAR A HELMET WHEN THEY ARE ON THE ICE. WE HAVE HEARD THAT REPRESENTATIVES OF THE USA HOCKEY MID-AM DISTRICT WILL BE GOING TO THE RINKS TO ENFORCE THIS RULE. WE HAVE ALSO HEARD THAT A COACH COULD RECEIVE A 30 DAY SUSPENSION FOR NOT WEARING A HELMET. BOARD MEMBERS OF FYHA WILL ALSO BE CHECKING TO SEE ALL COACHES ARE WEARING A HELMET WHILE THEY ARE ON THE ICE.

LOCKER ROOM BOXING
IN THE PAST, COME COACHES HAVE HAD THEIR PLAYERS DO LOCKER ROOM BOXING BEFORE GAMES. PER USA HOCKEY, THIS ACTION HAS TO DISCONTINUED IMMEDIATELY. NO LOCKER ROOM BOXING IS ALLOWED. THERE HAVE BEEN REPORTS OF CONCUSSIONS THAT HAVE OCCURRED DURING THIS ACTIVITY.
