Below are the High School Girls teams.  Please note that it is possible there will be some minor changes over next few weeks (although none are anticipated).

IMPORTANT - This year all girls must register online for USAV participation.  To do so, go to "Links" tab at left hand side of screen and go to the Gateway region website.  Follow the links from there to register.  A few tips

1. When indicating the Club look for "Team Fierce" on the list of names

2. You do not pay anything.  The club finalizes the registration and pays the fees (thats part of your club dues).

 THIS REGISTRATION IS IMPORTANT AND YOU CANNOT PARTICIPATE WITHOUT THIS STEP.  IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS PLEASE LET ME KNOW.

Sorry for the malfunction.  The information sheets now actually show up under the "Handouts" tab on the left side of the screen.  Hopefully this will answer any questions that cannot wait until the parent meeting the day of tryouts.

Just a note on the elementary girls tryouts.  We will definitely have traveling teams for 5th and 6th grade girls.  We may also include some younger girls on these teams depending on skills. 

4th and younger - we will at least have a "development squad" of younger girls.  Some of these girls may travel if tourneys are available and parents are willing.  Obviously, the rates shown on the Information sheets will be reduced for these girls.  We will discuss further at the parent meeting the day of tryouts.  I would encourage all to at least come for the first tryout session and the parent meeting. 

Tryout dates are as follows

 High School Girls

November 22nd from 12:45 to 3 PM at the Charleston Middle School

 5th and 6th grade Girls (watch site for info on younger girls)

December 6th from 1:00 to 3Pm at the Charleston Middle School

Typical season:

4th-5th-6th grades:  

    December through March
    Cost is typically $250ish depending on number of tournaments (typically 4)
    Practice - 1 night during week 1.5 hours and Sunday afternoons 1.5 hours

7th-8th grades:

    March through end of May (starts after State tourney)
    Cost is typically $250 - $260 depending on number of tournaments (typically 4)
    Practice - 1 night during week 2 hours and Sunday afternoons 2 hours

 High school age:

    End of November through end of March
    Cost is typically $450 - $550 depending on number of tournaments; teams pay an additional fee if playing in national qualifier (decided by the team)
Practice - 1-2 night during week 2 hours and Sunday afternoons 2 - 2.5 hours 

    This group practices more and plays more tournaments than pre-high school age; this cost is usually half of what other clubs charge

If any player needs to ride with any coach to a practice or to a tournament, there is a form that is to be filled out (under Handouts) and given to the coach prior to the trip. 

Information for tournaments (as soon as it is received) is posted to the website. If you open the website and scroll down - you will see a paragraph about each tourney with a heading for the specific age group. Information such as which jersey to wear (HS teams - always bring both jerseys), whether food is allowed, whether you need to bring chairs, a meeting place, and the time to be in the gym is found here. Driving directions to all playing sites will be located under the Locations link on the left side, and tournament bracket info is usually stored under the Handouts section. People usually take care of their own food (if allowed in the gym - see the info on website) - but if any of you would want to organize something for your team (where food is allowed) you definitely have my blessing!!!!

Weather concerns - if there is ever a concern due to weather - please contact your coach first. The coaches will be in contact with Kevin. Please double check the phone numbers on the phone list (under Handouts) and make sure they are correct (if not - email Kevin the corrections).

Reffing and scoring duties - all teams and players have specific duties at each tournament. If you are working a match - NO CELLS PHONE, NO FOOD, PAY ATTENTION. DO NOT leave the tournament until your team has been told by the coach that the entire team may leave because the team may be responsible for officiating the next match even if you have lost.
