Don’t forget to fill out and submit your FAFSA form as soon as possible. State funding and funding from private sources tend to be much earlier than deadlines for federal aid. To make sure that any financial aid package your school offers you will contain aid from
as many sources as possible, apply as soon as you can after January 1, 2005.

Filling out your tax return first will make completing the FAFSA easier. However, you do not need to submit your tax return to the IRS before you submit your FAFSA. But, once you file your tax return, you must correct any income or tax information that changed
since you filed your FAFSA. Inaccurate information on your FAFSA may delay your receipt of Federal student aid. Also, you will be required to return federal aid your improperly received based upon incorrect information. Priority funding for most colleges and
universities is February 15. FAFSA forms are available in the Career
Center. You can also fill out the FAFSA online www.fafsa.ed.gov

NEW SAT MATH SECTIONS BEGINS IN MARCH
The new SAT will include expanded math topics, such as exponential growth, absolute value, and functional notation, and place greater emphasis on such other topics as linear functions, manipulations with exponents, and properties of tangent lines. Another change will be the elimination of the quantitative comparison questions. Important skills now measured in the quantitative comparison format, such as estimation and number sense, will continue to be measured through the multiple-choice and student response questions.
