ALLSTARS FAQ

Q: What is All-stars?

A: Little League Baseball (LLBB) All-stars is a tournament held every year in all 50 states and in just about every continent as well. The top team from each region meets in Williamsport, Pennsylvania for the Little League World Series in August.

Q: Is there additional paperwork needed?

A: Yes there is paperwork along with residency verification requirements and a state copy of your childs birth certificate is required. All paperwork and documentation is outlined in the attached file.

Q: What about Softball and Juniors Baseball?

A: All-stars is for softball and junior baseball as well with each division having their own World Series in August.

Q: My child is nine or ten years old. Can they play in All-stars?

A: For nine and ten year olds there is a local Anchorage wide tournament each year run in the same format as LLBB All-stars.

Q: Can my child play in the All-star tournament?

A: If your child played in the LLBB Majors division and they are league age 11 or 12 they are eligible for the LLBB All-star tournament. If your child is league age 9, 10 or 11 and played in either the LLBB Majors division or the Minor A division they are eligible for the 10/11 tournament or the 9/10 tournament in July.

Q: When is the All-star tournament?

A: 9/10 Baseball is July 6th through 13th at Dimond West LL.

10/11 Baseball is July 6th through 12th at City ViewLL.

LLBB Majors District July 11-16th (FNLL), District Finals July 18-25 (AOR), State July 29 Aug 2nd (Ketchiikan).

Junior Baseball District Pool at Far North LL July 13-16, District Finals at Far North LL July 18-23, State at Juneau LL July 28th Aug 1st.

9/10 Softball July 7-11 at Nunaka Valley LL.

Q: Is there a time commitment for All-Stars?

A: Yes you are expected to be dedicated to the team during this time period especially in the LLBB, LLSB and junior BB and softball division. These divisions could advance to play in the lower 48. The other divisions expect a level of commitment similar to but not as strict as LLBB.

Q: Is there a cost for All-stars?

A: Yes there will be additional costs. You can expect to pay  $50 to participate. In addition team jackets will be an additional $65. The league supplies the uniforms and hats.

Q: Do I have to volunteer to help with tournament?

A: Yes you do. However if you absolutely cannot put volunteer hours in you can buy out of volunteering for $50.

Q: How are the teams chosen?

A: There are several methods to choose All-star teams will be chosen by a combination of peer voting and coaches selection.

Q: What if my child doesn’t get picked for the All-star team?

A: If your child doesn’t get chosen then he may be placed on an alternates list. Every year we have a few parents who put their kids through the process but don’t follow through.
