FAIRHOPE YOUTH BASEBALL
Welcome to Fairhope Youth Baseball's Official Website. We've signed on with Eteamz.com to provide Fairhope Youth Baseball with a communication tool to keep players, coaches, parents and fans informed of league activities.
Fairhope Youth Baseball is a league for over 600 boys and girls ages 5 through 14, committed to providing a recreational program that emphasizes sportsmanship, fair play and a family oriented atmosphere.
The league is affiliated with Dixie Youth Baseball for players age 12 and under and Dixie Boys/Majors for ages 13-14.
Our season starts in March and runs through early June, with year end tournaments extending into early August.

2009 fall baseball Opening Day rainouts rescheduled
We are rescheduling the games for Opening Day that were rained out for Friday, October 30. The games to be played are as follows:
PEANUT
530 pm: Sea Dogs at Rock Hounds (Fairhope) Thunder at River Cats (Daphne)
700pm: Mud Cats at Rock Hounds (Fairhope) Daphne at Central Baldwin (Daphne)
MINOR
530pm: Rock Hounds at Red Wings (Fairhope) Scrappers at Daphne Purple (Daphne)
700pm: Sea Dogs at Tibmer Rattlers (Fairhope) Central Baldwin at Daphne Gold (Daphne)
OZONE
530pm: Rock Hounds at D-White (Fairhope) Scrappers at D-Purple/White (Daphne)
715pm: Bulls at D-Purple/Gold (Fairhope) Bay Minette at D-Gold (Daphne)

Fall Baseball schedules are out!
Schedules for the fall baseball league are now posted under "handouts". Please note that all games will be played at Volanta Field in Fairhope or Lott Park in Daphne. Games begin on Saturday, September 12 at 5:00pm. Good luck to all teams!

Fall Baseball registrations are now closed
Registration for the 2009 Fall Baseball League are closed. There are a few postitions remaining in the Minor league (9-10 yr old), but we are full and cannot accept any more players in either the Peanut (7-8 yr old) and Ozone (11-12 yr old) leagues. Our coaches meeting was held last night (Monday, August 24) so you should hear from a coach anytime regarding practices. Please check the site in the coming weeks as schedules will be posted under the "Handouts" section the week of September 7.

New bat regulations for Dixie Youth Baseball Ozone Division coming in 2011
Please note that Dixie Youth Baseball will be ammending thier bat regulations governing the Ozone (11-12 yr old) division beginning Spring of 2011. Spring of 2010 will be the final year that 2-3/4" barrel bats will be allowed in Ozone, thereafter only 2-5/8" barrel or smaller will be allowed.
Nothing will change for the T-Ball, Peanut or Minor divisions, 2-1/4" barrel bats are the maximum allowed. This rule change will also not apply to Dixie Boys division.

2009 Fall Baseball Season
Time has come again for Fall Baseball! It appears that we will once again be running the league jointly with Daphne, with games to take place in both Daphne and Fairhope. Once again we will have multiple teams from Fairhope, Daphne, Foley, Bay Minette and other communities participating so it promises to be a lot if fun for everyone!
Please see the registration form listed under "Handouts". Print and mail the form to Fairhope Youth Baseaball; PO Box 1162; Fairhope, Alabama 36533. Or you may register in person at BanCorp South located at the Entrance to Rock Creek Monday through Friday until August 22. Practices will begin the week of August 24, with games to begin the week of September 12. The season will consist of 8 weeks, with games played on Saturday evenings and concluding the week of November 7 (no games will be played on Halloween night, Saturday, October 31).

Dixie Youth Changes League Age Determination Date From July 31 to April 30
The Dixie Youth Baseball Board of Directors unanimously adopted a change in the league age determination date for its players beginning with the 2006 season.
The league age determination date is the age a player has attained as of a specific date, for the purpose of placing the player in a particular division. Beginning in 2006, the date in all divisions of Dixie Youth Baseball will be April 30 of the current calendar year.
For example: Under the old regulation, a player who turns 13 in May, June, or July of 2006 would have been considered "league-age" 13 for the entire season, despite the fact that said player likely would have played most or all of the regular season (which generally ends in June) without having reached his or her 13th birthday. Under the new regulation, such a player will have a league age of 12 throughout the 2006 season.
