Financial Matters
Although select soccer is less expensive than many other youth activities with paid coaching such as gymnastics and skating, there are significant costs involved. In respect for the financial commitment we are asking you to make, our philosophy at the Reign is to provide our players and their families with great value for money. We are currently working on a budget for the GU12 season and it will be posted on this web page as soon as it becomes available.

Preliminary Reign '95 Budget
The final 2007-2008 budget for the FW Reign '95 program is still being calculated, but our preliminary cost estimate has come in at $1400 per player. This number is ALL INCLUSIVE and should pay for everything except travel expenses for league and tournament games.   This is slightly more than the $1250 charged last year, but will still be excellent value for money.

Included in this figure are: All league fees, registration fees, state cup fees, tournament fees, uniforms, warm-up sweats, training gear, wsysa insurance, coaching fees, program fees, and field rental & floodlight costs. Included in this cost is also special "program training" to be designed implemented by our coaching director, Rob Walker. "program training" will cover specialist topics such as speed, agility, coordination, and special technical sessions.

Fund raisers and sponsorships will hopefully bring this number down significantly.

We are still ironing out what the payment schedule will be. There are several substantial items (such as uniforms, sweats, and training gear) that need to be paid for right away, so there will be a significant amount of money required up front. As soon as we know what this amount is we will post it here.

Q: How do the fees for Reign '95 compare to the fees for other clubs in the area?
A: Our team's costs will be in line with what other major clubs in the area are charging. Many of the costs associated with select soccer (tournaments, field rental, uniforms, etc) are nearly identical from club to club. Fees for paid coaches and club directors seem to be the biggest variable affecting the price between different clubs.

We recommend that you ask any team you're trying out for (including ours) to provide you with an itemized budget at tryouts so that you understand your financial commitment and know what you are getting for your money. When comparing the costs of different teams, make sure that the same items are included in the estimates and that no significant fees or costs have been excluded.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Most Select and Premier clubs (Including ours)commonly do not calculate travel costs in their price quotes, so if the select team you are considering says they are going to do any out of area tournaments or travel out of state you will need to factor in the costs of airfare, hotels, and meals separately.

FW Reign '95 Purple is planning two out of town tournaments that will require hotel stays, the White team is planning one out of town tournament.

Q: Will Reign '95 be doing any fund raisers?
A: We do plan to do fundraisers as an age group. The amount of fundraising the age group does will be directly dependent on the amount of effort that the families wish to put into it. Our belief is that a few well planned fund raisers can be highly effective at lowering the overall costs for all players.

Q: WIll Reign '95 be offering any financial aid?
A: Historically both the Reign and Federal Way United have made some scholarship money available for partial scholarships each season. The amounts and availability do vary greatly from year to year. Within the GU11 age group we also plan to make some financial aid available. If you think you are going to be dependent on financial aid to participate in the Reign program we recommend that you contact Age Group Coach Scott Nelson before tryouts.
