A NEW DIRECTION FOR THE CLUB

2006-2007 tREIGNing Reign '95 will normally schedule two or three 90 minute team practice sessions per week. Frequently, the Purple and White teams will practice together and will also participate in large-group training with other age groups and boy's teams. Practice days, times, and locations will be determined by the club's coaching director.
SPRING COMPETITION A spring season is once again being discussed for the Premier Development League, but the format for this league has not been decided as of yet. Both teams would participate in this league if it comes together. Both the Purple and White team will participate in one spring tournament. The Purple team plans to do the Rainier Challenge over memorial day weekend. The White team plans to do the Skagit Spring tournament. Both teams will also play multiple friendly and scrimmage games as the schedule allows.
SUMMER COMPETITION All three Reign '95 teams plan to attend at least two summer tournaments. Thetournaments we plan to apply for will be announced shortly.
Tuesday, April 4 SUMMER BREAKS The Reign 95 program will have some scheduled downtime during the summer. These breaks are designed to let the players "recharge their batteries". Both mental and physical breaks are beneficial for a player's long-term development. Our break schedule is still in the planning stage, and will be announced shortly after tryouts. If flexibility allows, we strongly encourage the Reign families and coaches to plan their vacations around our scheduled breaks. We know this is not always practical or possible, so no one will be penalized if they chose to take vacations at other times over the summer. If your vacation plans will force you to miss any of the Tournaments, let your coaches know ASAP. FALL COMPETITION The Reign plans to return to the Premier Development League. Many clubs are advocating changes to the league structure and format of competition, so it is impossible at this time to say what that improved format will look like. We are planning for a fall season that will begin the weekend after Labor Day and could continue until mid December. Most games will be on Saturdays, but last year several Sunday games were also on the schedule.
STATE CUP After taking a break for the holidays, the teams will begin training for the State Cup. The State Cup is a tournament designed in two stages. The first stage is a round robin tournament usually involving three matches. Teams that qualify from the group stage move on to knock-out competition that culminates in a championship match. Unlike summer tournaments, the State Cup is not held over a single weekend. One regulation-length game will be played each Saturday. Teams that make it all the way to the finals will end up playing until early March.
GU13 TRYOUTS After the State Cup final is played, the year is officially over and the next season begins shortly afterwards with another round of tryouts.
