This site is maintained by a local Little League baseball/softball fan. Although its primary focus is the Northcrest LL, it will also be used to post interesting bits of information about other happenings in the local Fort Wayne area Little League baseball programs.

The site is being updated for 2008 primarily to follow the progress of the major league girls fastpitch softball division. The Northcrest Pizza Hut girls team returns a solid core of experienced players. It will be fun to root them on to their highest level of excellent softball play.

Last year's 11-12 year-old All-Star team won the District and Sectional softball tournaments and competed in the Indiana state championship tournament! Goals and hopes for this year's team would be to see them advance to that level and beyond. Someone will win the Indiana, Regional and World Series title. Follow this team to see what their abilities and excellent play will accomplish!

7/11/2008 - BLACKFORD WINS 2, ADVANCES TO STATE

With their 7-4 victory tonight, the Blackford All-Stars sweep the first two games in the Sectional 4 tournament and advance to the State tournament that begins next week. Blackford has been a worthy Sectional champion, and the Northside All-Stars wish them the best as they move on. At the Blackford home diamond, a sign proclaims that the Blackford All-Stars won the State tournament in 1997. Perhaps this year will produce their second State championship.

7/7/2008 - NORTHSIDE ALL-STARS REPEAT AS DISTRICT 10 CHAMPIONS!

Tonight, the Northside All-Stars repeated as District 10 champions with a fingernail-biting 1-0 victory over the 11-12 year-old All-Stars from Don Ayres Little League. With the win, Northside advances to the Sectional 4 competition against an opponent from District 9. This tournament places two teams in a head-to-head, best 2 out of 3, winner-take-all contest. The winner advances to the State Tournament. The first game will be this Thursday in Fort Wayne followed by a second game Friday in Hartford City. The third game, if needed, will return to Fort Wayne on Saturday. Refer to the schedules for exact times and locations. Hope to see you there!

6/25/2008 - PIZZA HUT CAPTURES DISTRICT 10 INVITATIONAL TOURNEY TITLE!!

The Northcrest Pizza Hut team captured one of several season goals tonight as they won the District Invitational Tournament by defeating the Miller-Reed team from the Don Ayres league. Coming into the championship match, Pizza Hut had an undefeated season on the line, and Miller-Reed had only one blemish on their record, from a previous regular season meeting with Pizza Hut. In the title game, Pizza Hut prevailed 5-0 to complete an undefeated season. Way to go, girls!

Next up is the all-star season as the first games will be played Monday, June 30. The best 7 players from Pizza Hut will be joined by 4 all-stars from the Hamilton Park Little League. Let's root the girls on as they work to defend their district and sectional titles from last season.
