The Lakeville 5th Grade Boys swept 4 straight games with wins over Nauset, St. Pats, Sandwich, and home team South Plymouth as they took home the 1st place trophy for the Freetown Lakeville Basketball Club on Sunday, March 15th at the South Plymouth Middle School. This came on the heels of a very strong showing the previous weekend in a tournament in Acushnet where they defeated Acushnet, Berkley, and Westport to advance to the championship but fell just short in a tough finals loss to Dartmouth. MOMS vs. DAUGHTERS
Saturday, March 15, the Freetown-Lakeville Basketball Club's 5th grade
girls team played their moms in a season-ender, fun-filled game!
The 5th Grade Girls team came in second place in the "Cape Hoops
League" Championship this year in Bourne.
The Freetown- Lakeville Basketball Club was formed this year by a
dedicated group of parents concerned about the youth basketball in the
area. They had a Saturday morning program for K-8 at an instructional
level, and more competitive travel teams in the Cape Hoops League.
The travel teams consisted of teams for boys grades 4-8, and girls
grades 5-8. The founding of the Freetown-Lakeville Basketball Club was
spearheaded by President Dave Austin of Lakeville.

For those of you who have been friends of Freetown-Lakeville Youth Sports in the past, you are likely aware that the basketball programs were formerly run under the direction of the Community Recreations Department.
In early 2007, a group of parents formed the Freetown-Lakeville Basketball Club to run a private competitive basketball club for boys and girls. This is a great opportunity. This is a tremendous challenge. We will need every volunteer we can find to make this work. With your help, we can provide a rewarding basketball experience for all children in the program!
