THE PACK GIVES BACK November 12, 2009
1. RASTUS-WARD SCHOLARSHIP FUND – This fund was established to provide financial assistance to those children who are unable to afford the cost of registration, practice equipment and other fees associated with playing for the Fishhawk Wolfpack. The scholarship fund is named in honor of Coach Wylie Rastus Kimbrell and Pam Ward, two of our Wolfpack family members who were taken from us early this year. Donations made in the form of a check paid to FYFCA and are tax deductible. Letters will be provided. In response to numerous requests, a scholarship fund was established in their honor. The Rastus/Ward Scholarship Fund, under the direction of THE PACK GIVES BACK, will fund the cost of registration fees and other necessary equipment for those children who would not otherwise have the opportunity to play or cheer for the Fishhawk Wolfpack. We thank our members for their willingness to contribute to this fund and we rest in the knowledge that both Coach Rastus and Pam would be proud to know that they were - and still are - part of a generous and caring community. What better way to honor their memory than to continue in their desire to serve our community and help children, just as they did during their short time with us. 2. TACKLE HUNGER – Food Donation. . There will be a one day food drive on the same day as our Year End Celebration the food will be donated to Lighthouse Ministries, a local organization that provides food to the needy. We are collecting non-perishables and ask that everyone who attends the Year End Party to please bring a few items as a donation.,Canned foods,Mac&Cheese,PeanutButter,Rice,Noodles,Cereal, etc. 3. GIVE ‘UR GEAR - Equipment Donation. We are collecting gently used equipment which will be donated to our local girls/boys club at the year end celebration! This equipment includes but is not limited to practice jerseys, practice pants, cleats, sneakers, footballs, cheer shoes, bloomers, basketballs, baseballs, softballs, bats, helmets, tennis shoes, etc.

JM and JPW cheerleaders gathered together to deliver the food and a $200 gift card to Publix to A Kid's Place on Wednesday, Sept 16th. They had the opportunity to hear a little bit about what life is like for the children who are housed there and how they can volunteer their time. We will be returning in October to spend some time with the children there and take a tour of the facility as well. Thanks to all the girls who were able to come out to help with the delivery as well as those who worked so hard taking collections. We are proud of all our girls for their willingness to give of their time to others in our community.
