What is Speed?
Watch any athletic competition and you will see that the movements athletes perform are quick, explosive and powerful. You will also notice that athletes perform these movements in all three planes of motion (sagittal, frontal, and transverse) as they sprint, bend, twist, turn, cut and jump their ways to success. Competition requires that successful athletes start, stop and change directions in a blink of the eye.
In sports, "speed" is known as the ability of an athlete to move his/her body through a range of motion in the least amount of time.
MegaSports is here to do just that...we are now offering speed, agility, and quickness training in order to provide young athletes with the opportunity to physically prepare themselves for athletic competition.

| SPEED, AGILITY, QUICKNESS (SAQ) TRAINING OVERVIEW |
|
The focus of the SAQ training will be on technique first. Once the basic techniques are mastered, we will then introduce intermediate and advanced variations of each drill used throughout the training. Each athlete will see the greatest results if they focus on the techniques first.
Each session will be an hour long and will consist of dynamic warm-ups, proper form drills, ladder work, drills specific to SAQ, and proper stretching techniques.
The training will be held at the Fishhawk Sports Complex at the multipurpose fields. The training sessions available for the months of December and January are listed below for each age-specific group.
We recommend (3) sessions per week for off-season athletes and (2) sessions per week for in-season athletes.
Please select the dates that work best for you and your athlete(s) and e-mail them to tucker@megasportscamps.com to reserve your spot!
The cost will be $10 per session and you will "pay as you go" / attend each session.

| AGES 8 - 11 YRS OLD (BOYS & GIRLS) |
This age group will conduct their SAQ training from 6:00 - 7:00pm for the dates listed below:
DECEMBER DATES: (1st - 3rd), (8th - 10th), (17th & 18th), (21st - 23rd)*, (28th - 30th)*
*During the Christmas break dates, the times for this group will change to 9:00 - 10:00am
JANUARY DATES: (5th, 6th, 8th), (12th, 13th, 15th), (19th, 20th, 22nd), (25th - 27th, 29th)

| AGES 12 & OLDER (BOYS & GIRLS) |
 This age group will conduct their SAQ training from 7:00 - 8:00pm for the dates listed below:
DECEMBER DATES: (1st & 2nd), (7th - 9th), (14th & 15th), (21st - 23rd)*, (28th - 30th)*
*During the Christmas break dates, the times for this group will change to 9:00 - 10:00am
JANUARY DATES: (5th, 6th, 8th), (12th, 13th, 15th), (19th, 20th, 22nd), (25th - 27th, 29th)
