REMINDERS AND UPDATES

Thank You to those who helped with the trip to Allentown to participate in USSBA's Northern States Championships.  Long ride, but the weather was great.  Not as great as the kids, tho.  The Frankin High School Warrior Band came in THIRD, against some very tough competition. YEAH!!!!!

The kids need parent helpers for the Thanksgiving Day game, which will be in Piscataway.   Equipment helpers load flags, horns, drums, and pit equipment into the new trailer.  At the performance site, the items are taken from the trailer, and most items are taken by the kids and carried away.  It's an easy, fun job with great camaraderie!  After the event is over, items are brought back to the trailer and loaded for the trip back to the high school.  There, all is brought back into the band room.  All jobs end there except for the driver's, who must return the truck to it's parking lot.  Chaperones stay with the kids throughout the day, until the buses get back to school.
So come out and help!  You'll be glad you did, and your student will be proud of you for being there for her/him.  Please let us know how you can help by sending a message to FHSBPA@gmail.com

Did you see our new trailer?  It's awesome!  We thank our sponsors and donors who made it possible.  We have a golf cart now, too!

See the Calendar page for rehearsal times, games and competition schedules as well as BPA meetings for 09-10.

Fundraising dates are announced here and on the Calendar page. Some dates and times are still tentative and all the information is subject to change. The calendar page will be updated as new information becomes available.

FUNDRAISING

The BPA runs fundraisers from time to time throughout the year.  Their purpose is twofold.  The BPA uses money it collects to support the marching band program, be it providing a vehicle to transport equipment needed in home and away football games and band competitions. (remember that since “home” games are played at the Middle School field, all games are essentially away games) to providing food, water, and treats at events and band camp to assisting with the band trip activity.  Fundraising also helps student increase their student trip account balance.  Most fundraisers are run on a 70/30 split where 70% of the fundraising profits are credited to the students account and 30% is credited to the BPA account.  The BPA is able to continue to provide the many valuable services to the band program and yet keep the membership fee to the extremely low $5 through this fundraising percentage arrangement.

Most fundraisers are sent home with a due date for return, and are posted here and on the Calendar page.

One fundraiser running all year long is what we are calling the Warrior Gold Scrip Program. This fundraiser allows band members to earn funds for their account through the purchase of gift cards. Cards are available for many merchants and if used for everyday purchases like groceries and gas and more can add money to the account quickly. More information is contained in the cover letter that went home earlier, which can be found on our Handouts page. Link to the order form is http://www.simplifiedscrip.com/ .   Occasional specials and sales appear; checking the Simplified Scrip website is a good idea.  Subscribe to receive announcements of free shipping, sales, and specials.
