OUR GOALS AND MISSION:
The purpose of the Enfield Ramblers Youth Football and Cheerleading Organization is to firmly implant the idea of good sportsmanship, honesty, loyalty, courage and self-discipline in the minds of the children of our community.
By creating an atmosphere of positive peer competition, it is the goal of our organization to develop well adjusted, stronger, happier children that will grow to become good, decent, healthy, trustworthy and productive citizens.
Enfield Ramblers Youth Football and Cheerleading Organization is currently a member of the Northern Connecticut Football League (NCFL) and as such will comply with their By-Laws and standing rules.  (Please see the handout section for the NCFL By-Laws)

The Ramblers are an entirely volunteer organization run by the dedication of many.  We greatly appreciate all help that we receive and encourage everyone to get involved in the success of the organization.

NEWS:
July 19, 2008
Mt. Carmel is holding their annual Feast the weekend of Aug 1-3 at their home on Park Ave.  This is a wonderful event with great homemade Italian food and desserts, fantastic music, carnival rides and good times had by all.  Come out and support the Mt. Carmel.  This year the Enfield Ramblers are proud to be a sponsor for one of the dining tables for the three days.  Sponsoring a table helps them meet their goals.  We are also going to be their "clean up crew" nightly.  Anyone interested in assisting us with the nightly duty please arrive prior to closing time.  The men of Mt. Carmel do so much for the organization, it is the least we can do for them.
July 16, 2008
The season is just about here.  We are getting excited to begin.  Registration has been going
on since mid April.  The B- Team is full with a roster of 40 and two on the waiting list. All other
squads still have openings.
The coaches and board members have been meeting throughout the year in preparation for the
new season.
Reminder:
The first two weeks of practice we will be at JFK Middle School on Raffia Rd.  Our first night we
will be meeting in the auditorium.  We would like to have a brief meeting with all players, cheerleaders
parents and/or guardians.  Important information will be given during this time.  Fundraising
packets will also be handed out.

ATTENTION CHEERLEADERS:
ALL RETURNING CHEERLEADERS NEED TO HAVE THEIR REGISTRATIONS IN PRIOR
TO THE FIRST NIGHT OF PRACTICE.
PLEASE CONTACT YOUR COACH FOR REGISTRATION FORMS
**2008 SCHEDULE**  please see the handout section for the 2008 schedule

REGISTRATION IS ONGOING FOR FOOTBALL

UNTIL TEAMS FILLED OR 2ND WEEK OF PRACTICE

REGISTRATION INFO:

Last year we implemented a fee change for families with multiple children

in the organization.  The registration fee has been adjusted to provide a reduced rate as follows:

first child          $75.00
second child     $65.00
third child        $60.00
4 or more         $60.00 each

max of $300.00 per family.

Next change is in regards to mandatory volunteer time (time helping the organization).

Each family will be required to help the organization a total of 2 hours during the season (no matter how many children play).   Therefore, each family will be reguired to provide an additional refundable $50.00  at the time of registration. This $50.00 will be refunded to you by the end of the season once you have fullfilled your 2 hours of time. Your volunteer time does not need to be during your childs play time or performance.

Therefore the total due at registration will be your registration fee plus $50.00 per family.  You will not be considered fully registered without this additional $50.00.   Sign ups for time to work will be on a first come first serve basis.  Anyone not signed up will be assigned a time period.

Suggested volunteer time:

9 am   D Team ---    D team parents  field set up, C team parents (pre C game)

11am  C Team  ---    D team  (post D game) and A Team parents (pre A game)

1pm    A Team ---     C Team parents (post C game)  B team parents  (pre  B game)

3pm    B Team  ---    A Team parents (post A game)  B team parents field take down

The Enfield Ramblers 2007 Season:

Congratulations to all divisions for an AWESOME year of football.  With the help from talented coaches, support from parents/fans these kids had a great year.  The A and B team both took 1st place in the league for the regular season.  The C Team coming in 3rd place for the regular season.  All three teams making it into the playoffs and battling for the league championship.
The A Team ended their regular season in first place with a record of 7-1.  They hold the #1 Offense with an average of 29.8 points/game and the #1 Defense with an average of 6.7 points/game.
The B Team went undefeated in the regular season with an 8-0 record.  With many injuries at the end of the season, they put their heart and soul into every game.
The C Team came in 3rd place for the season with a record of 6-1-1.  Awesome playing.  They never gave up even going into 7 overtimes in the playoffs.
The D Team was very strong this year with many talented young atheletes.
We look forward to the upcoming season as many of our players will be returning and moving up.  We wish those of the players and cheerleaders luck as they move forward in their sporting careers beyond the Ramblers .

"THANKS"

Pat Crowley and board members would like to thank all of the players, cheerleaders, coaches and parents who came out to participate in our yearly canvas day, on Saturday Aug. 4, 2007.  Due to your dedication and hard work, the Ramblers were able to raise $3145.00 on that Saturday morning.
The Ramblers also thank the many residents of Enfield who generously gave when the players and cheerleaders came to the door.  We appreciated all the support of our town residents.   Those of you who were not at home or unable to give on this particular day, we always welcome donations.  Please see our page "donate now" or participate in our magazine fundraiser under "support our team".

Trivia:
Did You Know That?
American football is a modified form of the English game rugby, which was invented in 1823. Versions of football have been played in the United States since the 1850’s, but it was not until 1873 that the Intercollegiate Football Association was formed to consolidate many disparate rules of play. By 1882, rules were further revised to a format that closely resembles those used in today’s game. Today, football has more rules than any other team sport. The first professional football game was played in 1892.
