Vazquez hurls Complete Game
Biondis Vazquez was awarded the first game ball of the season for his Complete Game win against the Great Neck North Blazers. Biondis struck out seven batters in the 8 inning performance.
Monday, April 9
Lugo and Hassan help hold off Hempstead
David Lugo and Syed Hassan shared game ball honors for their roles in helping to hold off the Hempstead rally in the 7th inning of Elmont's 5-4 win. Hassan earned the save on the mound and Lugo made the key play, nailing the tying run at second base trying to steal.
Tuesday, April 10
Vallejos powers Elmont to a win
Luis Vallejos went 2 for 3 with a double and a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored two in Elmont's 8-5 victory over Hempstead.
Sunday, April 15
Vasquez magnificant again!!
Spartan's ace Biondis Vasquez earned his second game ball of the season by hurling his second complete game win. This time Vasquez defeated Carey, a team that features one of the best lineups in Nassau County. Biondis held the Seahawks to just three hits in the win and lowered his ERA to 3.12. He also went 3 for 4 at the plate ans scored 2 runs. For the season Biondis has a 3 and 1 record, with 23 K's in 24 and 2/3 IP and is hitting .304 with 9 runs scored.
Thursday, April 19
Vallejos delivers the clutch hit!
Luis Vallejos delivered a clutch two run go ahead single in the top of the 7th inning in the Spartans 14-10 victory over Westbury. Vallejos was 2 for 2 with 2 walks and a sac fly in the victory. He drove in 3 runs and scored 2.
Thursday, April 19
Angelo notches three hits!
8th grader Angelo Melendez went 3 for 4 at the plate in Elmont's 13-6 victory over Friends Academy. Angelo reached on a bunt single in his first at bat, then delivered a well hit two run single to the opposite field later in the game. He finished the day with a single up the middle. The rookie also recieved quite a greeting from his teamates upon being presented with his first game ball.
Friday, April 27
Lugo 2-3 in win
4/24/07- Freshman Catcher David Lugo had his best hitting game of the season in Elmont's 10-3 victory over Roosevelt. David was 2-3 with an RBi groundout and hit the ball hard in all three at-bats.

Vasquez K's 12 in 2-hit shutout!
Biondis Vasquez pitched the best game of his career, striking out 12 in a complete game 2-hitter. Hempstead never reached third base in the dominating performance. The Spartan's ace improved his record to 4-1 with the victory.
Saturday, May 5
A.Clerge 4 for 4 with HR in loss
Adelbert Clerge recieved the first game ball after a loss this season. On a day when the Spartans only had 7 hits, he had 4 of them. Including a double and a Home Run during a 4 for 4 day. He currently leads the team in hits, avg, and RBI.
Monday, May 7
Prosper continues hot hitting
Andrew Prosper had two hits and reached base safely in all four at bats in Elmont's 9-3 victory over Westbury. Andrew also stole 3 bases and scored two runs. Prosper is in the middle of a four game hitting streak and is 5-13 during the stretch.
