Elizabeth P.A.L. "BULLETS"
Welcome to the inaugural Elizabeth Police Activity League (PAL) "BULLETS" 14U girl's fastpitch softball team page!
Softball will be joining several other Elizabeth PAL sports, beginning with choosing the best 11-13 year olds this fall, and hosting regular instructional practices and clinics throughout the winter and early spring. We hope to have the nucleus of the team ready to go by Winter 2007, when indoor training will commence. We plan to play in exhibition games and tournaments beginning in June through early August. Additional post-season tournament play will be contigent upon the level of talent we field next summer. If feasible we will continue with fall ball in 2008, followed by indoor winter training, and so on. The initial goal is to develop a highly competitive team, legitimately qualify for post-season play, and continue with this group through their high school / 18U years.
Most if not all of your equipment and playing gear will be provided by the PAL. You will receive top-notch instruction from current and former coaches and players with Amateur Softball Association (ASA), other travel ball, high school, NCAA and ISF/International fastpitch experience. Special guest coaches will visit us, too. Thus far we have committments from several of the above including the former Dominican Republic National Team coach and ace pitcher (who is an 8-time ASA All-American), the NJ ASA Hall of Fame coach who taught and worked with Olympic pitchers Michele Smith, Cat Osterman and Arizona's Alcia Hollowell, and several ASA and All-American players. This is a unique opportunity for young players.
The PAL Bullets team is looking for ATHLETES who are also good students - the two must go hand-in-hand. We want athletes, skills must be learned and we will train you. Players and their families must be committed to this program, as roster spots will be limited. If you earn a spot, you must continue to strive to keep it. That means working hard on the field, in the gym and in the classroom, and being reliable and dependable to your teammates and coaches. And while this experience will be competitive, it will be fun and rewarding as well. We will start locally and build from there as our talent and success grow.
