1st Annual MLB Pitch, Hit & Run

   Elizabethport Little League was proud to play host to the Pitch, Hit and Run competition sponsored by Major League Baseball and Aquafina.   All of the kids did a great job and we had an impressive turnout.   The winners will be moving on to a Sectional Final on May 13th.

The sectionals will be held at the home of the Staten Island Yankees....Richmond County Stadium!The competition judged three seperate categories by age.   

1) Ability to hit the Strike Zone  2) Ability to run 120 feet 3) Ability to hit off a tee the best possible ball.

Team Mom Information

TEAM MOM INFORMATION

 

Any mom wishing to become a Team Mom please please check with any present Team Mom or Diane Noto at  dianednoto@gmail.com to sign up.   Leave your contact information and Diane will call all interested.


Concession Stand Duties: It is expected that parents cover the kitchen at least three times during the season. There are several positions that can be filled in the Kitchen and there will always be someone there to lead and provide instruction.


Team Mom's Job Description

T-Ball and Rookies

During Practice

  • Help Coach as needed keeping the children's attention on the practice
  • During the Game

  • Stay in Dug Out with children to keep them seated
  • Teach them to cheer on their team mates
  • Make sure no child leaves the Dug Out without supervision
  • Have the child ready to go on the field when called
  • T-Ball, Rookies, Minors/Majors

    Team Mom's will have a list of games; it will be up to the Team Mom to have their parents sign up to work the concession stand at least three times per season. There should be at least 2 parents from each team working the kitchen during the games.

    Team Mom's will be asked to help and enlist parents to help on Opening Day, Popcorn Fundraiser, Picture Day, Awards Ceremony and any other special event we have during the season

    Opening the Kitchen

    Anyone opening up the kitchen should always find it clean. When you are closing the kitchen for the night, please make sure you clean the pot, grills, and wipe off the hotdog grill. Make sure all appliances are turned off

    Cash Register

    • There should always be a 10 Singles and change in the register to start.

    When your shift is completed, you can take the large bills out of the register put it in a small plastic bag and drop it in the safe.

    Food

    • Put Hot Dogs in Water on the stove to cook (once they start boil you can take some out and put them on the grill then you can turn the heat down to simmer)
    • Push the thermostat button on the fryers to start them. It will take approx. 5 minutes for the oil to heat up.
    • Prepare food according to the crowd, it takes approx 7 minutes for chicken fingers, 2 minutes for mozzarella sticks and 7+ minutes for fries. If there is not a lot of people just make them on a order basis.

    Remember do not make a lot of food at the end of the night (1/2 hour before game ends)
