Saturday, December 8LITTLE LEAGUE IMPORTANT DATES AND RULE CHANGES
LITTLE LEAGUE TRYOUTS FOR 2008 WILL BE HELD SUNDAY, APRIL 27 AT 12:00 NOON AT THE RACETRACK PARK. IN CASE OF BAD WEATHER, TRYOUTS WILL BE HELD AT THE HIGH SCHOOL FIELDHOUSE. PLEASE BRING ALL REGISTRATION FORMS AND HAVE THEM FILLED OUT IF POSSIBLE. FORMS WILL BE AVAILABLE AT THE SCHOOLS PRIOR TO REGISTRATION.
PLAYERS WILL BE DRAFTED TO A TEAM LATER THAT DAY AND WILL BE NOTIFIED BY THE TEAM COACH AS TO WHICH TEAM THE PLAYER WILL BE ON.
Little League Int'l will be making the following changes for 2008:
1) Detachable bases will be mandatory. Detachable bases are designed to detach from the
ground base when impacted to lessen the chance of injury for sliding players, etc.
2) In addition to the pitch count rules mandated for 2007, the following will now is also
mandated. The pitcher may not pitch in consecutive games even after the required
number of rest days are observed. Exceptions are given when the minimum is pitched
(refer to rules).
3) Pitchers may not enter to the catcher position after pitching. This is subject to the
number of pitches thrown.
