ECYL HISTORY

 2009 - 2012

Eastside Crusaders Youth Lacrosse (ECYL) is a non-profit 501C (3) corporation and was founded in 2009.  The program is an independent organization and is self funded and supported.  The earliest plans, mission and objectives were drafted by EC Board members Scott Kelly (President) and Mike Shigley (Vice President).   In 2009 a Board of Directors was formed with the addition of Alene Breed (Treasurer) and Sue Burke (Secretary).

ECYL is a member of the Boys Youth Lacrosse of Washington governing organization and competes in the Metro division.

2009
During our inaugural season, ECYL had a single 5/6 and 7/8 boys team.  The teams had remarkable success for a first year program - the 5/6 team went undefeated and the 7/8 team went 12-1 losing only to Bainbridge Island.

2010
ECYL expanded the Board of Directors with the addition of Rich Schwartz as Vice President, Player Development.  The number of boys teams expanded to (2) 5/6 and (2) 7/8 teams.  A Middle School girls team was added with players from 6th-8th grade. All teams were successful with both the boys 5/6 and 7/8 Blue teams boasting perfect records with no defeats.
