Eastside Little League: By-Laws - T-Ball

T-Ball (5-year-olds) 2009 By-laws 
 
1.   1-3 practices/week during the season.
2.   You may have up-to-4 practices/week prior to season start.
3.   Two games/week.
4.   Runners are not required to slide but coaches are encouraged to coach it.  No headfirst slides.
5.   Teams will use a continuous batting order.
6.   All players bat every inning.
7. Batters/Runners that have been put out may stay on base.
8.   No score will be kept.  No standings. No playoffs.
9.   All players play in the field, however, only the proper infield positions will be allowed.  Extra players will be in the outfield only.
10.      1- hour time limit on games. 
11.       There will be no umpire, coaches will determine the outcome of every play.
12.       Safe (soft) baseballs will be used.
13.       Players are encouraged to stay in the dugout at all times.
14.       Parents are allowed to help their child as needed during the game but only the coaches with a background check may be on the field.
15.       The on-deck position is not permitted.  The batter will be allowed time to warm- up in the batter’s box.
16.                Catchers must wear a mask.  Catcher should stand clear of home plate while a batter is present.  Batting team coach shall place ball on the tee.
17.                The “T” will be used at all times.  No coach-pitch.
18.                No strikeouts.
19.                Bases will be 50 feet apart.
20.                Team selection is completely random with T-Ball division coaches pulling names from a hat.  Coach and assistant coach may have their children on their team.
21.       Siblings may be selected together.
22.                Players will rotate defensive positions and no player will play an infield position or an outfield position 2 innings in a row.
23.                No stealing or advancing on overthrows.
24.                Only the Head Coach and Assistant coach may be on the field during the game.  One additional assistant may be in the dugout as long as he has had the proper background check.  The additional assistant will be chosen by the Head Coach at the first team practice. 
25.                 The Head Coach and one assistant coach will receive team shirt and must wear during the game.
26. All males are encouraged to wear protective cups.
27. No metal cleats.
