Eastside Little League: By-Laws - (A) Coach Pitch
Saturday, February 7A (Coach Pitch) 2009 By-laws 1. 1-3 practices/week during the season. 2. You may have up-to-4 practices/week prior to season start. 3. Two games/week. 4. Coaches will pitch for the entire season. 5. Coaches will pitch overhand, from a knee at 20 feet. Coaches may move up and pitch underhand at their discretion. 6. Runners are not required to slide but coaches are encouraged to coach it. No headfirst slides. Headfirst slide is an automatic out. 7. Teams will use a continuous batting order. All players bat each inning. 8. There is free substitution in the field but no more than 10 players in the field at one time. 9. No score will be kept. No playoffs. 10. Each batter will see no more than 6 pitches unless there is a foul ball on the 6th pitch. If the 7th pitch is fouled off, batter is awarded first base. There are no strikeouts. All batters are awarded 1st base. 11. Runners that have been put out at 2nd or 3rd base will leave the bases. This is to reward the defense for making the play. 12. 1-½ hour time limit on games. No new inning shall start after 1-¼ hours. 13. There will be no umpire, coaches will determine the outcome of every play. 14. Safe (soft) baseballs will be used. 15. Players are encouraged to stay in the dugout at all times. 16. Parents are not allowed in the dugout during the game. 17. The on-deck position is not permitted. The batter will be allowed time to warm- up in the batter’s box. 18. Catchers must wear full catcher’s gear, including a regulation catcher’s glove, not a fielder’s mitt. 19. Bases will be 60 feet apart. 20. Runners may advance 1 base on an overthrow. 21. Team selection is completely random with A - division coaches pulling names from separate hats (based on ages). Every effort will be made to make the teams even based on the ages of the players. Head Coach and Assistant Coach will have their children on their team. 22. Siblings may be selected together. 23. Only the Head Coach and Assistant coach may be on the field during the game. One additional assistant may be in the dugout as long as he has had the proper background check. The additional assistant will be chosen by the Head Coach at the first team practice. 24. Only the Head coach and one assistant coach will receive the team shirt and must wear during the game. 25. All males are encouraged to wear protective cups. 26. No metal cleats.
